But, Kylin Hill is the answer to teams dropping 8. We lost him on the first drive. It isn’t that we lost our first punch, it’s that we lost our counter punch.

Nope, he would have done way more than marks or Johnson did. We turned it over on downs twice running the ball.

Not when it’s an All SEC back against a 5 man box all night. Hill would have chewed that apart.

I would agree with you if it was a WR. I bet Hill was the second most important option in the game plan tonight.

4th and 1 on the 6 yard line was worst call I’ve seen. I mean you could see Arkansas shooting the gaps. You got to either run outside or throw the 17ing ball. Arkansas didn’t even try to hide the fact they were crashing the middle on that play and we run right into it.

ALL teams face losing players. I watched 5 go down for Arkansas tonight. They had 2 not start tonight. That is 6 guys off the DEFENSE.

This is Leach not knowing what to do with teams dropping 8

Costello was bad tonight. But he was doing exactly what Leach wants. Leach has NEVER run threw a gauntlet of DCs like he is going to this season. Never. The late 90s SEC is t even remotely close to what he is facing now.

His stubborn *** better find some answers. I remember what happened to our last coach who was too stubborn to change it up just a bit. His yankee *** is now a coordinator.

We moved the ball, but when you turn it over 4 times and don’t take the Field goals, you’re gonna lose. We gave up at minimum 13 points tonight. We should’ve won 20-14 at minimum. The defense played a great game, but the Turnovers are killing us.

It’s also the qb not knowing what to do and frankly our oline didn’t play well either

Turnovers lost the football game. Defense played good enough in the second half. You can't continue to give the other team the ball and expect to have any chance but Arkansas is bad enough that you did have a very slim chance at the end. Can't believe we had that many chances and still couldn't at least tie the 17'n game

That’s ******** to blame this on 1 injury.

Especially when your head coach abandoned a chance at nine points in a one score game.

Arkansas lost their top back too. Leach better learn fast that in this league you:

a. Have to let the defensive get you a win every now and then.
b. Soft QB’s aren’t built to last
c. Take the ******* points

Yeah, the INTs are why we lost. We've got to get that straightened out this week. KY will paste us if we turn the ball over 4 times.

The other answer is Costello has to be willing to tuck and run against that defense. I’m not asking him to be schrader or dak but go 6 yards and slide until the defense has to account for that and then when it’s the 4q and you are down 7 to make the play that needs to be made. Not slide a yard short

The best player on offense is a big injury. We may have still looked like crap overall, but Kylin would have been good for a touchdown or two.

Really concerned with Costello’s decisions on the INTs, and his running ability needs to improve. I get that he’s a passing QB but was an easy convert on that 3rd down.

Not knowing what to do? Our RBs got almost 40 touches tonight.

How many do you think they should have gotten?

Kylin Hill wouldn't have made a bit of difference in this game. Johnson and Marks played well. We certainly didn't lose this game because of them.

Agree that you can’t blame it on the freshmen RB’s, don’t agree that Kylin would’ve made no difference in this particular game. I think our chances of winning go up a good bit with Kylin, though it still would’ve been ugly.

With or without Kylin there are long term concerns for sure though. We’ve played two games and the blueprint for shutting us down is out there now for teams a lot better than Arkansas to take advantage of.

We’ve got a potentially huge problem here. Leach has won everywhere he’s been and WTF losses are not out of character for him, so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt for now. But this is potentially a major major issue moving forward.

You guys are going to have to understand that in a Mike Leach plan, you are playing 10 against 11 with regards to running the ball. He will not be a threat to run even with a wide open field.

On punts, our coaches were instructing the returners to fair catch so on the fumbled punt, he had looked to the sidelines and asked if he was supposed to fair catch. The players just looked like they didn’t know what to do tonight. The defense had no clue on the hurry up. They are constantly looking to the sidelines or looking at each other on the snap.

That stubborn ********** better figure out how to play against competent defensive coordinators.

If it worked in the SEC Hal Mumme would be at Bama and Leech would be at LSU and they both would be about to retire after multiple titles. Mumme's last gig was at Millsaps. It's a stupid gimmick that mesmerizes those susceptible to that sort of thing.

I was screaming that at the TV. When we ran outside the tackles 3 to 8 yards a carry. Up the middle stuffed. The LBs were playing tight on the mesh and run support. Running up the middle was stupid and we did it twice.

Your original comment was the one that needed sarcasterisks. What did you see that makes you think Kylin Hill would have made a difference?

I think he’s far more dangerous in the open field than Marks or Johnson at this point and more reliable in short yardage situations.

That is not at all what happened on the punt. As soon as the ball touched him his eyes went to the guy coming in. He heard footsteps and didn’t look the catch in. That’s high school ****.
