When will Wisconsin replace Fickle?

Watching them play is watching the Nebraska demise part 2
Taking a traditional running team that plays a tough physical brand of football and making them a pass happy spread team with a defense that practices against finesse 24/7 but is expected to morph into a physically tough defense on game day? Hmm... wonder how that turns out?

Haha struggling again against the sisters of the poor. Bama and the points gonna be easy money next week. SEC teams beating up on soft B1G and ACC teams making me a mint so far this season

So, there are no "finesse" teams (whatever that is) that can still play physical tough D? The two are mutually exclusive? A lot of teams are in trouble then.

For sure this is reminiscent of Nebraska struggling to beat McNeese St and North Dakota.

Hopefully not until we've at least beaten them a few times OP.....jeez lets not get so antsy to replace a bad coach for a program we've been dominated by the past decade

Surely you recognize the challenge presented by a defense practicing against a “finesse” team more regularly? I don’t believe the previous poster was talking in absolutes… it can be more challenging. Not that every team with a finesse offense automatically ruins the defense. That’s how you interpreted it.

This was the worst hire two years ago.

Wisconsin is closer to Pre-Barry days. Look it up, for 50 years they were a joke. They are heading back to that. They have no NIL, they have no recruiting base, they have no direction and now they have to play real teams.

Team identity. BYUs, Texas Techs of yesteryear. Colorado, teams like that. Heck some years it was the entire Big 12. Just speaking toward tendencies. Wisconsin making that big change is gonna take time… if it ever works.

But moving toward more physical. Plus it sounds and LOOKS like we practice well. So hopefully we’re the exception. Other teams are as well obviously. But the facts remain, whatever you want to be good at doing, you gotta work on it.

They are 2-0 and coming off a bowl win. I’m no fan of them and I think Fickel is over rated as hell, but I’m guessing most in Badgerville are pretty happy with him so far.

They are not...

They know that it is over. They suck and they are going to be a minor league team like PU and Minny and so on.

When I was a kid growing up in Minnesota we’d go to a few gopher and badger games. Both were awful, but WI was about as bad as KSrate pre Bill Snyder. One of the 2 or 3 worse teams in D1

I try not to make huge assumptions based on Alabama kicking the dog crap out of a program.
