Where are the Stans backers today?

They seemed to have disappeared after another great coaching performance by "The Recruiter".
For some reason after our SEC tourney run and the UGA game this year I thought that Stans had turned the corner for the better, boy was I wrong.
That's two horrible coaching games in a row, we even suck on defense now, which is supposedly Stans speciality.
Stans thinks we can just shoot our way to a win from behind the 3 point line, you have to be kidding me.
He has no go-to guy this year to hide his offensive coaching deficiency. In the past years he had J-Money, LR, Austin, etc to hide his lack of coaching..
It's time he hires a damn assistant coach to implement a real offense for our players besides the "Motion".
We have no ball screens to free our 3 point shooters, not back door cuts for out athletes, no transition offense for our quick players, no in-bounds plays, I can go on and on. He still waits too long to call timeouts to stop an opposing teams run, play the wrong playersand he still has the worst substitution patterns....
It's time for some type of change, be it assistants or the head coach...

We are on here bashing him just like the rest of you if you actually read some of the threads. You know that post sounds just as ghey when you do it that way as it does when someone does the "Where are the Stans haters now?" posts.

it appears as of now, we aren't going to get that. And that's where people are finding fault. I just want to keep the current success. I don't say it's do or die for Stansbury unless he gets to the next level.

defense - - he should have zoned - but if clarke would have hit wide open threes on our zone, or if we would have started giving up offensive rebounds, you experts on this board would have roasted him for that too

offense - - WE ARE A 3 POINT SHOOTING TEAM!!! WE DO NOT HAVE POST SCORERS, WE DO NOT HAVE OFF THE DRIBBLE SCORERS. If Stansbury sucked like many coaches do, he would try to force his style on talent that he doesn't have, and we would be 8-12 or something right now. A 3 point shooting team can't shoot under 20% on the road and win - when we are ice cold on the road, we are going to lose - - I don't see how we were as close as we were in these two games - - we must have a pretty good coach??

My position still stands:

1. our "talent" level is top 30-40 most years, contrary to what many of you make it out to be - - lots of you act like we have top 10 talent every year and don't live up to it.
2. for our talent level, Stansbury gets the most out of it year in and year out, and makes adjustments to fit what we have
3. this is Miss. State - - nobody is going to come in here and recruit top 10 talent, and not even coach K is going to come in and coach our top 40 talent up to sweet 16's every year.

I am confident that Stansbury will have us competing for SEC titles more often that not, and in the tournament more often than not. Occasionally, we may make a run - just hasn't worked out yet.

I guess it was all that WINNING that we had been doing while you guys were complaining. It is the current losing that pisses me off. I refuse to complain after any loss no matter how crappy we look doing it.
The thing is, the "next level" for MSU basketball is mythical. It is what it is. We can and should be on the fringe of the top 25year in and year out. There is no excuse to do worse than that. We will not and will never be a perennial top 10 team. If we get back on track and end up 24-9 or so then I will be happy as a pig in ****.

PS: Please anyone, spare me the "accepting medicority" crap. It is called being a realist. I doNOT accept what we are doing now but am smart enough to realize that winning 22+ games a year at MSU is pretty tough to do.

i'm assuming that he was thinking that Fortson would not continue to score around, over, and through the top shot blocker in the history of college basketball, and he didn't want clarke to beat him. he was wrong - I would have zoned, 99% of the world would have zoned after the 10th drive.

i will give him a pass on making the wrong defensive call - - it rarely happens, but will if you coach 400 games

I agree. Over the last several years, no matter how much Croom or Polk sucked, we could count on Stans putting a decent product on the court. I don't know if I can handle three rebuilding teams at the same time.

..."all that winning that we've been doing"? Seriously? Who have we beaten of note? When your best RPI win to date is over Ole Miss, you've got no reason to crow, no matter how many wins in a row you have.

Stans can not coach, we have no offensive game plan. We look like a church league team, shooting nothing but three pointers. We have some good college basketball players on our team and we are not utilizing their strengths except for making some 3 pointers, even then we take bad shots half the time...

Please spend some time and watch some other teams play basketball and you will see teams actually run plays to free their shooters. How many screens did JJ Reddick have to go through to get a shot off? Other teams actually have an offensive game plan and change it up to fit the team they are playing, what a novel idea.

I want MSUto be a winner, not a medicore team. I do not expectTop 10, but how about a coach that can implement an offensebesides the "No- Motion".
