If they held that game on a neutral site they would have trouble drawing 100 people total.

Wow...that is really bad. Such a great year and that's they type of fan support they get? Embarrassing.

And if they win, they probably get the group of five's New Years Six bowl bid. How many will they bring to a major bowl against a powerhouse opponent?

You think they sold 50 of 3000 TIX? Or did they give away 50 to staff, parents etc.

Understandable that Temple won't sell most of its allotment, if their fans went to the game, how would they be able to post here about the game.
I'm sure someone on this board will start a game-thread so Owl fans can follow the game .[roll]

The game is in Texas. It's not like it's a bowl game. They are going to get a bowl in 2 to 4 weeks so most fans have to choose between traveling to one or the other. It's not like this is a drive-able game during the Christmas break. Students can't do a game like this during the school year too.

It's actually sadder to sell 50 tickets than none at all. Temple's fanbase literally consists of dozens of fans.

We took more people to our high school state championship game when we played in Giants Stadium in 1996. And we were only Group 2.

I agree with hiwater here...touch call when you have to make plans to travel twice potentially(championship and a bowl game). Still VERY sad numbers but I wouldn't be throwing stones in a glass house

Thing is, we're not so much throwing stones as rebounding them back. Or, to put it in terms more accurately reflective of my emotional age: but they started it!

Yeah, good point about saving for the bowl, but the team gotta feel a bit let down. Of course, they'll be playing in front of the usual amount of their fans, so it won't matter, lol. Will be interesting to how much of their bowl allotment will be used. At least it will be in Miami (projected)

If it was 750 or 800 tickets sold, yes, I'd understand the planning for a bowl trip.

But 50?

There are 65 players traveling to that game. A quarter of them don't have a single person that wants to cheer them on?

When I played for the West Orange PAL Pop Warner team we played a team from Philly (Tacony?) every year for charity, alternating home sites. I know we had more than 50 people travel down with us.

This is just plain embarrassing. Maybe Rhule should rethink staying.

Wow, the fact that it's an even 50 means that the tickets weren't even purchased by fans. They were probably a pity purchase by Genos cheese steak stand and donated as not to shame the city of Filthedelphia. Damn that sucks. That's worse then the eagle sound they try to pass off as an owl at the stadium they don't have.

Unless they win the game, the AAC Championship Game is against a better opponent and a better location than at least one of their bowls. Here are the available bowls for the AAC:

12/19 Cure Bowl, Orlando (vs Sun Belt, probably Georgia Southern)
12/22 Boca Raton Bowl, Boca Raton (vs MAC, might be against one of the MAC Championship Game participants)
12/24 Hawaii Bowl, Honolulu (vs MWC)
12/26 St. Petersburg Bowl, St. Petersburg (vs C-USA)
12/30 Birmingham Bowl, Birmingham (vs SEC, possibly vs 6-6 Auburn)

NOTE:
USF is playing against a C-USA opponent in the Miami Beach Bowl on 12/21
Navy is playing against an ACC opponent in the Military Bowl on 12/28
