Where Are the United States Attorneys?

This being president thing seems to be overwhelming for him and his staff. Maybe someone should put this on his "to do" list. smh

Three months after President Trump
abruptly fired half of the nation’s 93 United States attorneys, following the resignations of the other half, he has yet to replace a single one.

It’s bizarre — and revealing — that a man who
called himself the “law and order candidate” during the 2016 campaign and spoke of “lawless chaos” in his address to Congress would permit such a leadership vacuum at federal prosecutors’ offices around the country. United States attorneys are responsible for prosecuting terrorism offenses, serious financial fraud, public corruption, crimes related to gang activity, drug trafficking and all other federal crimes.

As is usually the case when confronted with his own incompetence, Mr. Trump has spent his time looking for somebody else to blame.

“Dems are taking forever to approve my people,” the president said in a statement he released on Twitter Monday morning. “They are nothing but OBSTRUCTIONISTS! Want approvals.”

The problem is, the Democrats couldn’t obstruct any United States attorney nominations if they wanted to because Mr. Trump has not made any.

Same holds true for many departments, like State. Lots of empty cubicles in Washington.

And still wasting millions per minute

We are on pace to spend $1 BILLION this year in secret service protection.......largely because of the travels to his vacation home, and his wife not living full-time in the White House......

The total cost in 8 years for Obama's vacation travels was $85 million.......

Wow, you are saying that $96 million over 8 years is "destroying this nation"....well.....

Trump has so far appeared to set a record for weekend travel, regularly shuttling back and forth between Washington and Florida.

"For someone who complained about President Obama traveling a lot, he's going to supersede President Obama's travel, all eight years [of it], within a year,
which is just absolutely ridiculous," says Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego of Arizona, who recently signed a letter to the Pentagon asking about the costs racked up by the president's use of Air Force One.

Political hay has long been made over personal travel by presidents. Republicans regularly excoriated Obama for the cost of his trips to Hawaii and Africa, for example.

From The Hill:

President Trump has saved taxpayers more than $86 billion in regulatory costs during his first three months in the White House, according to a new study from a conservative group.

Well, if you don't care, then why did you post the Obama vacation statistics??? Seems like you do, and that you're bothered by the numbers.

I did say I was wrong....mis quoted the "this year", but the numbers are accurate. Around $1 billion to cover 8 years compared to $85 million........not to mention that Trump has went on more weekend or extended vacations at this point than Obama did his first several years in office. He has also played more rounds of golf than any other president at this point in a presidency.....why is that a big deal? Because of this.....

This may shock you, I agree. We should not be spending exorbitant amounts of money on our Presidents since they are racking up huge speaking endorsements. While I understand Barron wanting to stay and finish school, he should be in DC after the end of the year. If not, DT should pay for it, he has the means. Obama should not be getting anything more than a reasonable amount of stipend to cover some of his costs. He just got $400,000 for speaking. He is a young man, he should be off government assistance.

Didn't he get $400K from a business/industry? Not the government?

I thought you were all about free markets and enterprise?
Did you read my entire post? I said that I actually agreed about Trump, barron, too much golf, etc. I said we need to limit how much govt assistance our Presidents get when they can go out and make a lot of money. That meant that Obama could pay for his own protection service.

And we continue he marching on. I think there is a point being lost on some here.
Can't you see a back log of federal cases leading to a waste of even more government money in the future? This plan (as if it's really a plan) is very short sighted.

Bingo. Numbnuts think a shortage of fed prosecutors is a good thing, but have no idea what it really means.
