Where did Creighton get all these fans?

Quest Center in Omaha holds 17,500 and it looks pretty full to me. The crowd is as loud and excited as they are at most ACC games. I guess people in Omahaw jump on the bandwagon for big games against SEC teams.

Some people are fans of teams outside the Big Six conferences. News at 11.

Since moving into the building, Creighton has averaged 13,662 fans per game. They got 16,730 against Mississippi Valley State.

Imagine that. Fans showing up to watch their team and not the opponent. Foreign concept to State fans, I know.

thats not normal for a team outside of the big 6 conferences. That's the reason I was suprised. I never knew they had such a large following.

1 million people if Iowa is included. Nebraska has not had a very good basketball program. Creighton has had a really good basketball program in comparison. Many MO Valley teams have big fan support for their basketball programs. I'm glad UK won so I won't hear about how Creighton is better than the SEC on the radio tomorrow.

The Missouri Valley has solid basketball with an excellent following. UNI, Drake, Creighton, Illinois State, Bradley...they have all been in a tough battle over the last couple seasons, and the programs have fans. And usual recent powers like MO State, Wich State, and SIU are down now but are sure to be back up soon.

Omaha may be in the middle of nowhere, but its a great city and Creighton is lucky enough to be the only thing in town. I headed out to see 2 games played there this year, just top notch facilities and basketball.

5 of the 10 schools in the MVC have larger arenas than MSU, and another 2 are just slightly smaller(300 less each).
People in Omaha dont jump on the bandwagon for big games against SEC teams, Creighton has averaged 16,422 per game this season. Hell, Wichita State has averaged 10,500 and Bradley has averaged over 10,000.
MSU would be 4th in attendance if we were in the MVC. 4th by a long ways, at only 8728 per game.

I agree completely. I realized this when I went to the College World Series two years ago (I don't go to home games). Great city and great people. It was surprisingly alot cleaner than most cities in the south and the way it was set up was way better. For being about the same size as Memphis, it is way way better.
