Compared to others we have had in big games. I think UL 2006 and pedd st are on their own level. UL 2012 was a notch below with michigan and I remember Cincy 07 was a great atmosphere. I would expect this to probably be better than any other game besides the 2 that I listed as our best ever.

PSU last season was a pretty wild atmosphere. If we can duplicate that, it'll be great and it'll give the team a big boost.

Depends on how many Rutgers fans show up - buckeye fans take over stadiums and pay good money for seats - and there were a bunch of empty ones against MSU - but if the o-h-i-o is going around HPSS them it wil be a long night.

We have to hang in there and not be down 14-0 first five minutes.

Don't you think our fans have learned to not give up too early?...smh

We were there to the end in both our 2 losses at home...I wouldn't give up to quickly.

Buckeye fans may take over another team's stadium but that normally occurs only when they sell out their own ticket allocation, which didn't happen for this coming weekend's game.

I thought after PSU people would learn. This isn't 1980 and we ain't Northwestern......nobody is taking over our stadium.

Going down 14 to the # 1 team in the country is a lot different than going down two scores to Maryland, Indiana or a weak Arkansas team.
There's also a big difference between taking the air out of the crowd and giving up, you can feel like this could get ugly and not give up.
Can you honestly tell me you are void of negative thoughts?

As others have said if Rutgers plays tough and competitive the crowd will be going wild. I was at the Penn state and if it's anything like that game then it will be an experience.

Louisville in 2006 was at its own level. PSU atmosphere last year was great but no Louisville.

I remember sitting in the student section at the RU-Miami (then ranked #1) game in 2002 (or was it 2003?). One of the best atmospheres and most fun experiences I have had as an RU fan... That was with maybe 35K in the stands.

This week's game will be a sellout, and the later the game remains close, the crazier it will become. If it's within a touchdown in the 4th quarter, it will be the most intense environment ever at a Rutgers home game.

But if and when we go down by 2+ touchdowns, the crowd is going to expect the inevitable, and will be pretty dead.

It depends on how the game goes. if it is close or RU is up, it'll be electric. if it is an OSU blowout win it will be like a graveyard.
This exactly. If we hang in there into the 4th quarter it will likely be the best atmosphere we have ever had - up there with Louisville.

If we get down two TDs - agree with the board - people will just assume that it will be like last years rout, and tune out.

One thing that is likely is that if we are in it - it will also be somewhat high scoring. The one thing about the PSU game last year was - it was not that exciting of a game. Not alot of highlights. But OSU is going to put up points on us. If we are in it, it will be because we also are putting up points on them, which should help keep the crowd in it.

I think it will be electric at kickoff- but there will be late arrivals as always. On par or a bit crazier than PSU last year. We are true dogs and fans have less expectations about how we will play.

The issue is to get to the Lville 2006 or even 2012 Lville game- ranked teams with a possible Orange Bowl bid on the line. 2002 Miami was crazy- despite the BS call on Nate Jones INT that would have put us up 17-7.

Having no expectations is not exactly electric.

I don't know how that happened - and it wasn't many tickets at all - BUT, they are coming in big #'s Saturday, trust me, I've got one friend whose group just picked up about 20 tickets at no less than $150 (or so)/ticket. They showed up with 30,000 or so at Cal, a few years ago, so don't think for one second the fact that they didn't "sell out" their allotment will hold much meaning come Saturday.

MSU didn't "sell out" their allotment, either, but they were all over the north end zone and other parts of the stadium, scattered throughout, as well.

Playing the number one team at home should have resulted in a sellout weeks before the game was to be played.Lets not forghet that there are approximately 20 million people in the NYC,NJ,Philadelphia corridor and Rutgers has a hard time attracting 53,000 people.I know lets blame the attendance on the METS playing the Cubs.

In fairness, Rutgers admin got a bit greedy with the starting prices of the tickets for this one. Probably why it hasn't sold out yet, and may be why Ohio State's allotment didn't sell out either.

Nonetheless, I expect it to end up a sellout and a wild atmosphere.

Mets, Cubs will not affect stadium attendance enough to make a difference.
If they do play at the same time as us, Chicago is Cub crazy and NY is Mets crazy so TV eyeballs will be take a big hit, but only in those two markets

Sorry don't buy that. If the prices were steady and not raised, I would be there. I cannot afford a $200-300 ticket times 3 people. Mich St. and OS would have been sold out at the beginning of the season.

Hey zap man...do any teams that play a #1 team in any sport give up once they score and say...wow this is the #1 team, I mind as well give up because after all they ARE the best?...like they say on any given Saturday or Sunday anything can happen.
I just expect our fans to cheer their loudest for our guys because I know they will not give up so we shouldn't as fans either.
I know you played ball...did you ever go up against the best pitcher in the league and think to yourself I'm not hitting this guy once the count was 0-2?... Or did your fans mark you down for a K in their score books?

I just think as a competitor,,,negative thoughts are not an option.

I expect the place to be packed and electricity in the air, just like Lou 06 and PSU last year. Dynamic pricing keeps it from being a sell out until the last minute, but all tickets will gone. Undefeated national champ in the house so its gonna be a zoo, at least in the first half. Mich fans last year were surprised how loud it was, I'll do my part so OSU feels the same way.

Nuts is spot on and the cal game and others were the basis for my comment - we will see Saturday that OSU travels at a different level.

I bought on Stubhub as I know many of my bucks friends do. I think it'll be a good turnout from the buckeye crowd.

I have no doubt that OSU travels great but do they really bring more than PSU brought last year? I find that hard to believe. There are a lot more PSU alumni in NJ and surrounding areas than OSU not to mention PSU is a car ride away. Sure there are plenty of OSU front-runners in NJ but I just can't see them 'taking over the stadium'. PSU said the same thing and it wasn't really close to happening despite them having a sizable number of fans present.

If we are winning and/or keeping it close, then the atmosphere should rival PSU last year and arguably Louisville '12. If we fall behind by more than two touchdowns early and it becomes a blow-out, then it should become subdued, as with many previous home games versus WVU.

Louisville 2006 is still a different animal, based on two undefeated ranked teams facing off, with a spot in the national championship most assuredly on the line, and an 18-year drought of merely beating a ranked team by Rutgers at the time. It was and will remain one of the best nights of my life.

Doubt they will bring a TTFP level crowd considering unfortunately the number of Cultists within driving distance. Probably more than MSU though considering more tOSU alums and fans in the area than them.

If that guy toward the top of 125/126 eats whatever he ate last year, that section will rank. Glad I'm closer to the bottom.

As fans we suck but we ain't cal. They slept in trees to prevent stadium upgrades. You will have fans but nowhere near a takeover and less than Ped State.
