CC. If McCorvey cannot do the job, the blame lies with CC for not making the change. Honestly, I think McCorvey is doing exactly what CC wants him to do.

to put up an ultimatum. Fire your OC or else. It's as simple as that. And McCorvey is not the problem but that is what has to be done.

It's not an either/or situation. They're both responsible and they both need to be fired at the end of this season. No way Croom gets fired this season, but I'm holding out some small hope that Byrne will tell Croom to either fire McCorvey or he'll do it himself and Croom will get pissed and negotiate a reduced buyout. However, I suspect we'll find out that when Croom said "I'll never fire an assistant coach," that was just another lie he told us.

Yeah they went and visited some NFL teams and etc. The results are not working. It the same crap we have done the last five years. Our defense can not win everygame for us and I don't Ellis for leaving us when we have to idiots running the offense. We have a decent QB in Carrol, two good running backs and it seems it we could have some guys at WR that could grow into good WR's. There is no reason for us to ranked in the 100's in total offense still. Croom needs to move Woody to running backs coach/whatever and bring in somebody that is proven and let them have control. I don't care who they are as long as they can get our offense turned around. If the great Greg Byrne can stand up to a legend like Polk he should have no problem telling croom you need to get a new OC and leave him the <17> alone.

we will have a new offense next year. Best case scenario, new OC = new offense with Croom still head coach because you can't ask for a better representative of the university as far as PR.

but do you honestly believe Croom would turn the offensive reigns over to someone else, totally?

unless he wants to go from 1.7 million to making 250K as a position coach in the NFL.

He would have to work 7 years to make what he is making 1 year at State. He could easily retire and live comfortably for the rest of his life if he works the remaining 3 years of his contract.

I think CC needs to take the advice from a highschool coach, yes a highschool coach who made this comment. He said that the offensive team for MSU does not look like they are having fun. Everything is too stiff and looks too rehearsed. They also look to tense and this makes for mistakes. After watching them for three weeks this amoung many other problems mentioned makes sense. CC needs to decide what is more important, keeping a friend employed or winning games. State needs a coaching staff for the offensive team that can kick start them and produce more. I do not want a situation were the defensive and offensive teams cannot get along with each. This will happen if the offense continues to play this crappy.

I might should have actually put more of the blame on Croom because he is the dumbass that keeps this joke of an OC around. This has gone too far and I am very very upset with play calling.

More of the blame for the "suck" our team has been throwing at us has to be on Croom because he is the guy that fails to recruit a good quarterback. I mean even Southern Miss gets quarterbacks who are better than ours. I would have rather had Henig in tonight.

we have been living in hell these past 5 years of State football. Any slight bit of offense and croom's ****** record of like 14-30 or whatever would be so much closer to say... 20-24? We have coughed up way to many winnable games due to the embarrassment we are on offense. As fans and a university we are being let down so badly. I just watch the 2 second highlight reel on espn again. bullet points they show Lester hurt.... Auburn fumble twice, Crooms terribble 4th and 15 decision and our interception throw. Absolutely embarrassing game.

instead of handing the ball to an Auburn safety, would we still be talking about all of this? I think so

to run a different offensive scheme? He has gone on record as saying that he intends to stick with his version of the WCO. If he was told to scrap it, he might have a problem with it, because he's a hardhead. Maybe he would agree to a reduced buyout. Seems to me that this offensive scheme is Croom's...and he hired McCorvey to run it, so it's really Croom's responsibility..totally. I don't know how he can't see, after almost five years, that it's a #!+%@$%@@#@, and these players can't run it.
