Where is the love for Jerious on here?

3 rushes for 56 yards and 2 TDs and 192 return yards to get the Falcons in the playoffs. Will he ever get a shot as a feature back somewhere like Michael Turner did this year for Atlanta?

Therefore he gets props. Of course i am convinced that Jerious could be just as productive. But then again i am a sheep.

thought this was funny:
Norwood took the handoff and broke free after a nice block from Tyson Clabo. St. Louis safety Todd Johnson unsuccessfully dove at Norwood's feet and linebacker Quinton Culberson was left flailing for air as Norwood cut back and completed the 45-yard touchdown, which gave Atlanta the lead with 3:50 remaining.

But I love the fact that he's here in Atlanta.

I think next year is his contract year, so it'll be interesting to see how many teams come calling for him and how hard Dimitroff tries to keep him here.

Roddy White's contract is up next year, too.

I think he's not durable enough for it. Norwood himself says he thinks he's not an every down back. Maybe he thinks that or maybe he's just playing his role on the team.

I think he's missed one game due to injury in three seasons. Compare that to, say, Cadillac Williams.

I realize they're completely different body types, but people cited the exact concerns about Michael Turner before this season--because he'd never gotten more than backup carries behind Tomlinson.

Norwood only got 95 carries this season, and he still got almost 500 yards.

If not an "every down" back, he could surely handle being a starter and splitting the load like he and Turner do now.

how nobody saw him being an every down back in the SEC. The guy can play, period.

You might not know of him if you aren't a long-time Cowboy fan. Anyway, the NFL has a long history of players with not a lot of carries and high yds/carry stats. Those numbers aren't going to extrapolate with 20-25 carries/game.

I love me some J-Rock. But mark my words - Norwood will not be an every down back.

which has hurt his performances in the recent weeks. He hasn't done much of anything since week 9. He's avoided the major injury that a guy like Cadillac had, but he just seems to get dinged up and loses a lot of effectiveness the more he carries the ball. To see the field more often, he needs to become a slot receiver, or, if he's happy being the big play potential backup, then there is still a long career to be had doing that. He just won't be a 20+ carry back in the NFL.

I appreciate what you're saying, but there's only one way to find out. It'll be after next season, when we see whether any other GMs/owners out there think that he's durable enough to handle 20-25 carries per game.

I'll bet you twenty ameros somebody will.

This day and age, the 2-back system seems more common and more successful than the Emmitt Smith model from the previous era.

I think J-Rock will do just fine in his career being the haymaker that follows somebody else's jabs.

Even if he is not a feature back, he clearly deserves more than 3 freaking carries. Norwood should touch the ball about 15 times a game either catching or running.

There are hardly any EVERY DOWN backs left in the game today anyway. It has become a much more viable system to have 2 feature backs with the more productive of the two getting 20-25 touches. Examine the current playoff teams.
Warrick Dunn did it and Jerious was behind him(he also got more touches then).
Norwood could easily do 20+ carries a game and I hope he gets the chance. He's not only a good player but a good guy as well and deserves it

They said the same about him. He is handling more carries well.

Norwood can be in a two back system, where two backs get about the same number of carries. Like Carolina, NY Giants and Tennessee did this year.
