as much as I would be the bill. If you are staying there you obviously know a member and you won't have to foot the bill. If, by some chance you do have to pick up the tab, I may go for the more economical choice.

My personal favorite is the Veranda. Also, Mugshots downtown by the courthouse is a great place to grab a burger and sit on the balcony if the weather is right.

I think it is the best restaurant in the Golden Triangle. Steaks, Seafood and Chicken Anthony are all excellent. Reasonably priced, great beer selection, plus you can bring your own wine and/or liquor.

Anthony's in West Point was the best place in the area when I was there. Loved that place. There are plenty of good places in Starkville though. You will get a good meal in Starkville at Restaurant Tyler or the Veranda. I always thought Harveys was overrated. Downtown, Mugshots is good for something casual if you can get a table on gameday.

I read here earlier this week that The Grill no longer has their phenomenal cheese sticks. WTF are these people thinking? Really.

anybody can rent a cottage there. And when you do, you get club privileges. And they do put them on the tab you pay.

But the food is good there -- upstairs and down.</p>

I was in town last week scouting out locations in the cotton district to set up my MSU Ringtone booth, and I could've sworn they gutted it and put in a huddle house.

I'm pretty sure you're wrong on this one.

From what I understand, the lady who owned it lost her husband to cancer, she sold the joint, her son (the previous chef) went to Destin or something, and she's just around to help the transition. We went for the first game and I got the bleu cheese stuffed filet. The steak itself was cooked well, but it was drowned in some sort of Olive Garden quality (read: too salty, cold, and congealed) sauce. Same with the sauce on my wife's Chicken Anthony. It just wasn't that appetizing. I scraped all of it off and just ate the steak. I was bascially left with a plate of what looked like Campbells cream of chicken soup dumped out on my plate.

/You can see the flashing lights of the jumbotron from West Point.

And the food is still great. Sesh is correct on the transition info, maybe when he went they were getting all of that worked out. The guy that owns it now knows food service, his family has been in the restaurant business for years on the coast. If you've ever eaten at Aunt Jenny's in Ocean Springs, that's them.

On a different note, thinking about having Restaurant Tyler cater our tailgate tomorrow. If we do, I'll let everyone know how it goes.

There's no lack of variety and it's a great atmosphere if the weather's good. It's on 182 down the hill from the courthouse. Or Mugshots, but it's tough to get in on game day.

My two favorite places in Starkville are Cappe's and Mi Hacienda. Cappe's if you want a steak, Mi Hacienda if you feel like some delicious, cheap Mexican food.
