Did I read the CL article correctly. Have we scheduled a H & H series with USM. LT would have never done this. I see no value in going to that **** hole they call the "rock". Play them at home but a return trip is a wasted game.

LT did do it. I traveled to The Rock to watch Jackie beat Bret & The Buzzards.

Although I admit it was a great game that was 15+ years ago. Our program and facilities have moved on. Their's have not. For whatever it's worth, Billy Hewes is an avid USM supporter who has always wanted legislation making USM, UM & MSU play each other every year.

beforeTempleton was AD. WhatTempleton did was move the last 2 games from Jackson to the campuses because by that time was had decided to abandon Jackson. Templeton's only choices were to play 2 in Jackson, play 2 in Starkville/Hattiesburg or break the contract. I think he made the right choice. Then again, I don't have a problem with the deal Byrne signed, although I would have held out for a 2-for-1. They'd have bitched and whined, but in the end they'd have done it.

He is levelheaded and I know Don Mason is one of his campaign managers and Don is a huge MSU fan and has Dave's ear. I also know nobody is going to make anybody play USM, it has to be an agreement between the AD's. I have no problem playing them. If we are as good as we should be, they will be no different than UAB or any other CUSA team. My sources say Bryant is more of a liability to MSU than Dennis and I also think regardless if Billy Hewes went to USM he is approachable and level headed. There are bigger issues to worry about in these elections than this.
