As I sit here and read some of our idiot posters talk about how terrible our basketball team is and that we should have kept Stans, I have to ask, was our loss to the No. 9 team in the nation by 46 worse than Texas losing to Chaminade?

Texas....Barnes it basically a Stans clone - he can get some talent but can't really ever seem to do too much with it. You can't judge Ray on anything this year - it has to be one of the worst situations from a major D1 program in the past 15 years.

The team Ray inherited is almost as bad as the one Richard Williams inherited. We've got less depth (or I guess I should say fewer bodies) than we did then, but at least a few of these players look like they have some potential.

I heard that this was the worst loss in 8 years. Of course Stans would have been there for several years in his program and I doubt at the time he was missing 3 starters and a couple more first people sub in.

Last year take Moultrie, Bost, Hood off that team, how many do we win? Ray walked into one of the worst situations with player moral and what talent was left. It is like the announcers last night said, Ray is starting from worse than scratch.

Where was I when Stans was doing this at State? Was all those years just a dream?

Texas has the most underachieving athletic program...

9 out of 14 times, they didn't even make out of the first weekend.. that's unacceptable for the talent level he recruits. And Stoops bitchslaps them on a regular basis.. he's got something like 7 Big 12 titles to 2 for Mack

Have not seen an outpouring of ...

"we should have kept Stans" type posts and blaming the "this team sux" posts on just that group is disingenuous. I support Ray; I supported Stans but am still rational enough to know he should have gone to Clemson or retired at least two years ago. This is going to be a tough year and Stans gets the majority of credit. But in 7 months and 3 games into the season, Ray has dismissed 2 players and suspended one.</SPAN></SPAN>
