Whan I was a full time Federal Ranger i investigated a site that had 46 deer carcasses dumped and about 200 yards further there were 200 racoons dumped and another 500 yards down off a Bayou there were 10 Endangered species snapping turtles all over 150 years old dumped. It took about 2 months after extensive investigation, but we caught those Rednecks. Never have understood the senseless killing of any Animals.

Remember the 'Sully' ditching of an airliner in the Hudson caused by birdstrike? In the subsequent years 70K geese were exterminated and thousands of eggs were coated with oil to smother the embryo's to help mitigate the threat. Nothing wrong with eliminating nuisance animals such as this. That should include non-migratory geese that become problematic.

This happened at a city I was doing some work for once. Turns out it was the city that had slaughtered them because there were so many in the public park. The rednecks actually came out of the woodwork to voice their frustration because they hadn't been contacted to kill them and that they "were raised to eat what they kill".

If you were allowed to shoot lead during the conservation season you may get more participation. But, i am not spending the money on steel for those things.

Kinda interesting- where I grew up and where I currently live are both right where a major Snow Geese migration route is, but I cant remember the last time I saw one in front of me. Decades at least.

But Canada Geese? Oh, those are 17ing awful creatures that just straight up live here and are angry about everything, since they are constantly in the way and being yelled at by people.

A Canada Goose is right next to a Honey Badger in how few 17s it has to give in any given situation. Their first instinct is aggression and it only elevates from there.

I used to eradicate the squirrels when they got in the bird feeders, and then allow them to re-populate a bit. Big mistake.

Now it’s a perpetual holocaust. If they’re on my property and in range, bust a cap in them I will.

And squirrels. If you ever had one in your attic you know. Fck those guys
Back during the deep freeze we had for a month( 2008?) squirrels got in the attic and chewed through roof framing, wall framing, and through the back of our upper kitchen cabinets seeking warmth. 17 those things. Hard.

Also, if you even see a damn chipmunk in your yard, set traps, get a cat, something. They’re just as destructive. They excavated a burrow under a shed so big, it undermined the concrete slab and a big section failed and sank 3 inches. Another time they burrowed under the footing into the crawl space and ate completely through a 4x8 floor joist. They also love nesting in engine compartments, especially between the hood and the heat shield, or in your air box.

Fun Fact 1: Taste test trials prove chipmunks prefer the flavor of Honda wiring insulation. Google it.

Fun Fact 2: Chipmunks are notoriously hard to trap. The only trap I had success with is a 5 gallon bucket half full of water, a board for a ramp, and floating sunflower seeds to make it look appealing. They will suicide themselves en masse by drowning.
