don't talk about it much is that after watching powe, meridian, the school in mendenhall, orgeron's plan, all american qb's falling into your laps on a consistent basis among other things, we are just tired and don't care anymore. I for one hope the arky fans get your asses in a bunch of trouble.
You're looking at a lot of that wrong.
The only things that came out of Meridian officially were secondary violations, which lead to nothing. Now, there may have been some other stuff going on there too, but none of that ever officially proven, so it's not like the NCAA could have done anything there. Besides, even if we were buying the hell out of those 2 players, what did it get us, a back up tailback? Just another reason why investing in recruits is a bad investment strategy, but that's another topic.
On Powe, it took 3 years for him to get in school. I don't see how the NCAA could've stymied that situation any more. If we were receiving favor from the NCAA, we'd have had him in long ago. As for Orgeron's plan, it's now in place officially, and it's helped out MSU's 2009 recruiting class a ton, so I wouldn't curse it too much.
