Which unit has to have the better game for us to win in Saturday's game?

Of course both units have to have success for us to win, but I think the defense having a really good game is more important than the offense having a really good game. I think we will be able to score even if we don't play well. But I am concerned we won't be able to outscore UK, so I think that makes the defense a little more important in Saturday's game. Anybody else agree?

simply because we have to limit turnovers- as we have been doing recently. If we turn the ball over a lot, it might not matter how well the defense plays.

my reasoning is very similar as Todd's but just from a different perspective....the defense must bring the pressure andCREATE turnovers to giv eour offense the short field and score points on that "vaunted"(sarcasm) wildcat defense...

UK is going to put up some points regardless of how well our defense is playing. The best defense Saturday will be an effective offense. If we run the hell out of the ball and control the clock, that will keep Kentucky's offense off the field. They can't score if they aren't even out there.

Their offense is incredibly dynamic, even without Locke. Hartline is an underrated QB, and everyone knows Cobb is incredible. State's offense is significantly better than UK's defense.

I thought he meant offense or defense. The secondary will probably carry the biggest burden, but Cobb runs a lot out of the wild(whatever).

Kentucky has a defense that falls pretty short of spectacular, they allow around 30ppg. and if I'm not mistaken, somewhere between 150-200ypg rushing. We are coming into the game averaging 219ypg. rushing so that doesn't look too bad on paper.<div>
</div><div>But their offense is where the trouble starts, they allow some yards and point but the make up for it by scoring and moving the ball up and down the field. Our defense has got to get pressure on the quarterback and force some hurried throws. Most importantly though we've got to keep Randall Cobb in check while in that Wildcat formation. He can run with the ball very well and he was a quarterback in high school and played it a good bit his Freshman year at UK. So not only can he run with the rock he can throw it around too, got to watch Cobb (I know, I know...It's common sense). </div><div>But we cannot focus our every move on him, this will create the Reggie Bush Effect, leaving other players unaccounted for and giving them open opportunities to make big plays - which UK does very well.</div><div>
</div><div>Offense just needs to keep from turning the ball over.</div>
