No dumpster fire burns as hot as an Alabama dumpster fire.

I remember the decade-long debacle that saw them go through Dubose, Franchione, Mike Price (It's Rollin!), Shula, and Joe Kines... Wow that was great theatre!

Saban took a fanbase containing throngs of people who's fervent worship of UAT football genuinely qualifies as a religious cult, and raised their expectations to levels that are impossible to sustain year after year although he did a pretty good job for a long time.

It isn't that they are 3-3 and unranked. They have one loss and are in the top 10.

I think this might be evidence that the UAT nut base is beginning to finally wear thin on Saban. My thought is that he is going to be looking for his next challenge and will be plotting an exit strategy in the next year or two.

^^^THIS^^^ Saban might could maintain his intensity indefinitely, but I don't think he's going to have patience with Bama fans that freak out because he has a team that loses 4 games, especially if he thinks his team is doing the right things in practice and improving throughout the year. Most likely, he'll have Bama back at an elite level in a year or maybe two. But next time he gets a UT type opportunity, he might look at it a lot harder.
