Why is it our infield grass is so patchy? Especially in front of the mound, it looks terrible. You can kind of see what I'm talking about below. Around the mound looks the worst, but around home plate is just as bad. The artificial turf just doesn't cut it for me because it stays dirty, there are no clean lines, and it is obvious that it's artificial compared to the rest of the field.

OM doesn't seem to have the grass problems we do.

I'll go ahead and save you the time... "why are we bitching about grass?"... but it looks bad. I'm sorry, but I have not been pleased with the field ever since it was redone a few years ago.

I agree in principle, but it's early in the season. Things will get better later on into SEC play. But yeah. We're an ag school. This should be an easy fix for us.

That field looks great compared to last year

when we had huge dirt patches in the infield and down the third base line. We even had a regional TV game with our field looking like a Class 1A high school field. That was embarrassing.

It's never been that good, though... especially the two area's I'm talking about

Last year we threw a patch of turf in front of the mound, but that looked just as bad as before. The white in the turf around the plate has always been stained, and there has never been a clean line between the dirt and around the mound or the plate.

We are an ag school and as much as we pride ourself on the quality of our turf, I expect our baseball field to look better than it does.

This is correct. Last year was the worst i have seen the field look that I can remember.
