I've never seen all 3 models (Euro, American, Canadian) agree on a winter storm this many days out. Timeline is Fri night through Sun. Could be a major ice event for all. Get your generators ready.

Madison MS looks to be exempt from this other than maybe roads getting icy depending on when the Saturday rain crosses paths with the 24 degrees

Which metro?

Also 6-8 inches is a lot! Can’t even imagine it.

North MS counties bordering TN is the current snow/ice line. This isn't one of those starts out raining and the temps drop. The cold is going to beat the precipitation. However, the models are calling for the warm rain to fall and freeze on impact in most of MS. Ice storm in the making. * I'm in north MS so that is what I have been monitoring the most.

Right now the models are in very good agreement on a significant winter storm affecting the area, but there is disagreement on placement. That, unfortunately, won't be nailed down until much closer to time.

The forecast for SE Alabama and most of south Georgia was pretty good several days out, except the actual weather was a little north of what was predicted. The models keep getting better and better.

Meh, we'll see. I live in NE MS and last night it was calling for 4-5 inches of snow and ice. Today the latest forecast I saw was for less than 1 inch of frozen precipitation and mostly rain.

lol of course Madison will not get any of it, we never do! Damn what I would give for just some snow … icy mix can stay away.
I’m afraid it won’t be icy mix. I think we may be in for a full blown ice storm. Just hope my power stays on.

Man you folks wishing for snow…. Last week I worked 3 days between Cleveland, OH and Erie, PA. Wednesday morning there was a foot of snow on my rental car at the hotel. Thursday it took me 3 hours to drive 50 miles on I-90 to make a flight.

16 degree and 30 mph winds. Absolutely 17ing miserable every time you stepped outside.

No thanks.
