The Federal gov't is bloated according to Trump supporters but I guess it's ok to hire up to 15,000 new gov't employees to police the border. That's like adding another whole agency, for ex., a conservative favorite the USEPA has around 15k employees. Well done small gov't proponents!

The White House is planning a “big immigration launch” Tuesday morning that will focus on the implementation of the recent Department of Homeland Security proposal that called for the hiring of thousands of officers and fast-tracking deportations, a senior administration official said.

The DHS plan was signed Friday by the agency's new secretary, John Kelly. If approved by President Trump, it would give federal authorities more power to aggressively detain and deport illegal immigrants inside the country and along U.S. borders.

Kelly called for 10,000 additional ICE officers and agents and 5,000 new hires at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency

Its OK moe. The adults understand that hiring immigration police is inevitable if you want to control illegal immigration. We can get rid of ridiculous regulatory positions nationwide to make room for what is necessary.

It's called a sound investment. In the long run, it will save us a fortune as a nation, by not having illegals bilk us out of millions and millions.

A President's first duty is to protect the homeland. Not quite sure how you don't understand this. He also plans to hire more military and increase our weapons systems. Is that wrong too?

WRONG. The Federal government spends far too much. money on things not within their portfolio. Defense of this country is number one. So much waste in so many departments including Education, Commerce, HHS, Energy, etc. The hiring of 15,000 for DHS is small in comparison to those we can easily fire from these other agencies and not skip a beat.

Protecting the border is one of the legitimate functions of Government Moe...not handing out food stamp vouchers.

I like Trump's order to eliminate two needless regulations for every new one implemented. I wouldn't mind seeing him doing the same for Federal workers.

He's already issued a hiring freeze for non-essential workers. I'd argue border Patrol agents are essential...we're being invaded!

Hire them (border agents), fire the unneeded EPA and OSHA pencil pushers.
