Who Are Some Celebrities We Need Associated to MSU Athletics?

Having Will Ferrell do a reprise of his more cowbell role tailored to MSU would be great.
Trying to get the real Kenny Powers to throw out the first pitch at a game this year would be awesome as well.
Both great ideas. I really think the Will Ferrell thing would get a lot of attention.
What I was thinking. If anything, get BB King, Morgan Freeman, or James Earl Jones to do the pregame "Please be considerate of the fans around you" type announcements like pro sports have celebrities do. Those are all local guys.

We at MSU have never done a good job of following up with our former athletes. We haven't done a good job of managing our M-Club involvement with the program. At All. (Scott, it's time for a change in the leadership of the M-Club...now)
There is a world of enthusiasm, involvement, goodwill, influence and face it...donations to be had. It has occurred to a point, but we cannot expect it to just show up at the doorstep. It is time for some introspection...

He narrated a couple really good Oxford/Ole Miss commercials
And that was back before we actually had a good media department, making it extra rare to have good commercials. No idea if he considers himself a fan, but he sat in a rocking chair talking about Ole Miss and Oxford. I believe he's a supporter of pretty much all things Mississippi. I heard him on letterman or some show talking up the state the whole time.

I'm sure if someone from our athletic department called him and offered him $X to his charity to make a PSA for our jumbotron he'd say yeah... and if he cared enough to know how racist as **** OMU is he'd make a PSA of his own. The candidate he backed for governor was basically the anti-OM mentality. I don't care to research it but he probably went to Ole Miss. But his views were probably protested with white hoods at the square.
But our boy BB King is basically from Starkville. Call him up. But I assure you no one at MSU cares about what celebrities make an announcement on the jumbotron. I think the True Maroon stuff is a lot cooler, even if ______ didn't know who they were before they followed up his spot with highlights.

BB is from Indianola. It would be cool though to see him on the Jumbotron rather than the annoying Toyota commercial.
I'd like to see LL CoolJ rap about the first 10 seconds of his 80's hit "Rock the Bells" while ringing a cowbell.
