Who are the RS Freshmen that should provide quality depth next year?

We need to find a starter on the OL between Justin Malone and Daniel Knox.
We need Joe Morrow to be all that and a bag of chips at receiver.

We need Josh Robinson and/or Derrick Milton to step up. I'll throw Nick Griffin in right here as well even though he's not a redshirt, just not playing because of the injury.

The good thing about having 50 freshmen on roster ... we are slowly getting away from relying on RS Fr to provide quality depth

most of our quality depth will be rs so next year.

RS Fr that will see playing time
Joe Morrow
Justin Malone
Benardrick McKinney

Justin Malone wasn't a dominate force in the MAIS. Even with his size, he rarely played as a Sophomore and skipped football as a Junior because he really didn't like it. He didn't even decide to play football his Senior year untilafter the team finished two-a-days. If he ever starts at MSU it either means we have a fantastic coaching staff who has done a miraculous job with him, or we are in very very bad shape on the line.

Don't get me wrong. He has great size and good feet and I hope he pans out, but I give it a less than 10% chance.

Body by Balis weeds out the guys that dont have the heart or dont like to work hard- and Malone is getting after it

right now and think he has the chance to be very good. He is doing the physical work that has been asked of him and he sports a 32 on his ACT and is doing very well in the classroom.

Kaleb Eulls and his Yazoo County team played against MRA (the MAIS school that Malone attended) and Eulls wasn't a dominate force in that game. Eulls is now a starter for us. Sometimes guys don't dominate because they have to learn how to play.

I said last week that Malone has the athleticism and feet to be a star. However, his first love was basketball. It will come down to whether he has his heart in it. It will depend on how badly he wants to be a great football player.

I agree. I was there when Kaleb's team played MRA and he looked terrible.

Like I said earlier, I hope Malone does great. He is very smart, a good kid and has the size to be a good player. Just have serious doubts based on what I saw during his very short high school football career.

Morrow and Market. We badly need Morrow to be a difference maker. I assume Market would be a DB - I just remember people saying he looked impressive (even though he's pretty small).

I'm also curious to see if Josh Robinson will get any playing time, and if Rufus Warren can help as a blocking TE. He should be the biggest body we've got on offense that's not an o-lineman. If Green doesn't come back (medical redshirt??) we need some quality snaps from either him or Brandon Hill.

we are slowly getting away from relying on RS TRUE Fr to provide quality depth
They switched up the way that they track redshirts on the mstate website rosters a couple years ago, so it's a little difficult to come up with the exact numbers. But I am about 99% positive that we have at least double(maybe triple) the amount of redshirts on our roster now than we had when Mullen took over.

i was saying most of our 2 deep next year will be at rs so or higher ...therefore, we are getting rid of rs fr on our 2 deep depthchart

we have 28 rs fr, 10 of which were walk-ons
20 true fr, 5 true fr of which are walk-ons ...4 of which are tr walk-ons
next year we should have 15 schollied rs fr

looks like 48 athletes classified as fr
