Auburn or Oregon.

More time to prep Defense, and not playing games usually hurts timing on offense. Auburn's got a stronger D, so I'm going with Auburn.

Auburn gives up more points per game, more yards per game, and has fewer takeaways.

When you consider Oregon's tempo makes their defensive numbers worse than they would be otherwise, it makes the disparity even greater.

with the speed of Auburn's no huddle offense. It was clear they hadn't seen an Oregon game this year. I swear they've had some 10 play 80 yard drives that lasted less than 3 minutes. Of real time.

Stats say alot, and you raise a good point. But just from a physical standpoint I think Auburn is better- they do give up the big pass play though. We'll see.

Oregon's D is better. But to the question, I think the break will help Auburn's D more, as they will have time to adjust to the high-tempo offense that Pac-10 opponents only had a week to prepare for. By January Auburn should be ready for the 4th quarter exhaustion that killed Oregon's opponents all year. I think in 5 weeks Auburn will be better adjustedfor the tempo than Oregon will be adjustedfor Cam.

I think Oregon's offense is more "gimmicky" and the extra time will help Auburn. Often times you know what Auburn is going to run and they make it work anyway, so the extra time won't help much against them.

I don't know if Auburn can figure out how to practice against Oregon's tempo. Maybe if they practiced against 2 offenses, one of which was always standing by to quickly line up for the next play.

I wonder if they might find a way to physically train (condition) for it. Some type of full-body HIIT exercise in 10 second intervals with 5-10 seconds rest in between.

Not like a Boise anyway. O isn't known for trick plays and stuff like that.

At times, they even run the same play many times in a row. Can look like different plays, but its the same play with the QB making different reads based on what the defense is doing. The tempo at these times is insane...just get back to the LOS ASAP and immedately snap the football.

I just think it's more of a unique experience facing them and having more time to prepare for it will help a lot.
