Employees often put their employers in a bad spot. You’re representing your employer even when not directly doing so, especially if you’re famous. The public will automatically associate you with your employer, whether fair or not. As a result, things you say can negatively impact the employer’s business. If I owned a small business, I sure as hell would not hire (or keep if already employed) a person that espoused the beliefs of or claimed to be a member of the KKK, BLM, Antifa, etc. either online or in person.
