Who else thought Chaney wasn't all that spectacular?

A good LB, sure. Great?

I watched the Sr Bowl. I read the glowing reports that followed, and didn't get it. In the Sr Bowl Chaney flowed to the ball well. He didn't dominate anybody one-on-one or stop anybody in their tracks. Not sure he made any one-on-one tackles either. He got himself "in" on lots of tackles, which is a big plus. And he never looked bad. I just didn't see any high-round draft/worldbeater potential there.

He was a good LB for State too. But not as good as a long list of other LBs I can think of. Not hatin, just sayin. Do I wish he was still here? Yeah, he's a good player and we could always use a solid guy at MLB. But its not like OC's were staying up late at night trying to figure out how they were going to handle Chaney.

after knee surgery is a spectacular athlete. While he may not have been as productive as other SEC linebackers he has everything one needs to be developed into
a solid NFL linebacker.
