Both seem to be looking at make or break seasons.
Nutt coming off a 4-8 season in which he lost to Jacksonville State.
Stansbury off a season where he had teammates fight each other on national TV, 2 players leave the program, and lost to some OOC teams we should have beat by 20+

On the bright side both had top 20 NATIONAL recruiting classes and are talking up the recruits to mend the problems from the past season.

As bad as I hate to admit it, and agree with Coach34, this season is a make or break season for Stansbury. If we don't make the NCAA tournament I dont see him back in 2012-13.

Odds are Stans has a better year than Nutt but who knows? Unless team implodes with off the court issues, then Stans will probably have at least two more years and that is justified simply to drive Coach34 crazy.

if he manages to ****-the-bed then there is no way anyone with any semblance of a brain can still back him.

Nutt, on the other hand, is already setting the bar low for next season so its kinda hard to be on a "hot seat" when no one is expecting anything out of you anyway.

But, I am curious to see how Bost and Sidney mesh with the new players like Moultrie, Hood, Smith, Gardner, etc...

I think our starting lineup will look like this by the start of SEC play

PG- Deville Smith
SG- Dee Bost
SF- Rodney Hood
PF- Arnett Moultrie
C- Renardo Sidney

We can come off of the bench with
PG- Brian Bryant
SG- Jalen Steele
SF- Shaun Smith/DJ Gardner
PF- Wendell Lewis/Roquez Johnson
C- John Reik/Shawn Long

Damn we should be deep.

How fast will they adjust to the speed of college ball, and will Stans let them learn from their mistakes during the games and not sit them on the bench and kill their confidence. Next year's team has a chance to be really special, only time will tell.....

These guys look like and talk like they want to come in and change the attitude our program has had for a while, andI wonder how that may affect guys like Bost and Sidney. Bost may be good, but he seems like he doesn't want to work sometimes and seems to zone out and not care for stretches in the game. We all know what Sidney has done and how he acts. But if Hood and Company come in and start to outwork these upperclassmen, I wonderhow some of our guys will take it.

I think Hood, Smith, and Gardner all want to get on the court and are going to do theirbest to make a name for themselves instantly and try to get on the court. Hopefully that work ethic will be contagious, and guys like Sidney and Bost won't want to be outdone by a bunch of freshmen. I'm hoping these freshmen come in and just keep pushing. All 3 of the aforementioned commits will see playing time next year in my opinion, so maybe their attitude coming in can positively affect the whole team.

In his previous two years, he didn't play with heart consistently. But last year, he seemed to play hard every play; granted I didn't watch every play, but when I watched I saw himshow a good attitude.

Stans better get Sid going, bost, moultrie, and all the freshmen ready. Word of the wise, keep coach cal's *** out of kemper county or our 2012-13 year will suck royaly.

I never said anything about that. I mentioned that he mentally checks outfor about 4minutes a game, and as the leader of our team you can't do that.Especially next year when we will have 2 starters returning. He takes someill-advised shots especially from 3 point range, andjust about every game is good forone or tworeally stupidpasses that leads to transition points for the other team.

He's the toughest guy on our team and I never questioned that. But our team mentally checks out for stretches, and I don't think that can be argued against, especially last year.I'm hoping these freshmen can come in and start pushing everybody to be at their best for the entire game. I can probably count on both hands the number of times I could say, "Damn we looked good" after a game over the last 4 years. Not because I'm slightly anti-Stans, but because we just don't play well for an entire game. Hopefully these freshmen can come in an bring some continuity to the game by pushing everyone to be at their best all the time.
