Us whitey's are always looking for an impact, melanin-deficient, player to make us feel a little less pathetic about our complete lack of athletic prowess.... So who's it going to be this year?

Keep in mind that last year's "general consensus" was a complete and utter debacle..... 17in Toast.

What a nightmare that was.

This year, I'm going with a tried and true safe bet - Patrick Hanrahan.

It's not like I'm downing any of these guys (any one of them would pound my face into the ground), just trying to throw a few humorous lines in with the names of some potentially good players (sans Taylor Reed i guess). And we don't have many whities to choose from, except for a few big uglies, so I had to dig pretty deep for some entries.

One a side note, I'd be lying if I said my 6-7 viewings of the Magic/Bird HBO documentary in the last 2 weeks didn't have any influence on this thread.

on defense anyway. and it's not because he's white. People were all on his jock after 2007 but all I ever saw him do was miss tackles and take terrible angles.

I still would have liked to have seen him at quarterback

cause all I remember from Zach Smith in 2007 was him laying the wood every chance he got.... except of course that LSU game when his head detached from his body and then magically re-attached.

What the hell, here is the video even though it completely ruins my argument.... at least he gave it his all.

He's legitimately a pretty good player. So he's automatically disqualified.

because when I ran track I was faster than the other sprinter guys who were- you know, but they wanted me to do long distance stuff because I was you know.

I was beating them on the track, and even they questioned the coach about it on my behalf.

Left a really bad taste in my mouth.

Insert that's racist where it says you know if you don't get it.

Wanted to run sprints, dammit!

Freakin' hilarious.

Cameron Lawrence has gotten a lot bigger and I could see him being a good player but I still don't know how much I see him being a linebacker until I see him scrimmage with full contact. Also, Chris White has some big shoes to fill coming in after Jamar but I'm confident in him. I don't see much more coming out of Smith after watching how he would just sit and wait on the ball last year and not attack it at all.

With his long hair & suit on, he looks like some kind of European mercenary or something. If he can't play LB, he should just start slitting peoples throats.

But seriously, go back & watch some of the special teams play from last year. He looked like the fastest guy out there, even ahead of R. Elliott (which may not be saying much). I think he'll make a heck of a LB.

WARNING.......What you are about to see is extremely violent and disturbing. Not to be watched by little kids currently playing football.

I am pretty sure I have only watched it once and that was enough.

A special teams guy and a guy who provides rest and depth. I could be wrong but I don't think he is physical enough. ala Rob Robertson at OM.

Good athlete but to play linebacker in the SEC you have to be a superb athlete or one mean/tough SOB.

No one questions his athletic ability or toughness. His only worry right now is learning the new defensive playbook and gaining good weight. Mullen has said several times that Cam "is just a football player," and they need to find a way to get him on the field somehow.

Diaz values speed in his system, and like John Chavis, he isn't afraid to move a defensive back to LB.

I watched the kid play in high school. Hands down the best athlete on the field and even though it was private school I thought he was athletic ENOUGH to play in the SEC. He wasn't mean though. Not saying he was a *****. he just wasn't mean. Sometimes it clicks later for people, but to play linebacker in the SEC you have to be really athletic or really mean and tough. Or you could get away with being above part in athletic ability and above par in meanness and toughness.

Compare him to White or Wright and there is gap in athletic ability.

I hope i'm wrong but from what I've seen so far my previous statement stands.

...It's getting tiresome watching MSU missing minor bowls because the white kicker can't make a damn 30 yd. field goal.

Time to deliver, 150 lb white guy with the "good leg."
