That's got to be HC Danny Meier. He was the head coach from when West Po opened in '85 through '92, and was an incredibly important figure in uniting Groveton and Fort Hunt. He was the coach for both the state championship teams in 1989 and 1990, and he compiled a 68-16 record in his 7 year tenure. His teams were known for lights out defense, and all but one of his 7 defenses allowed 110 points or less over 10 or more games, with the state championship teams allowing 80 and 59 points respectively. To my knowledge, West Potomac is the only team in the history of the VHSL to win 2 consecutive state titles each in a different division, and the 1990 Wolverines are part of the exclusive 6 member 400-60 club (teams that scored more than 400 and allowed less than 60 points in a season). The 89 and 90 Wolverines went 26-2, and Meier was also the AAA Coach of the Year in those years.
