Easy one for me. Charlie Watts. He made the Stones with his jazz background and 3-beat rhythm. He made Keith Richards sound like a God along with Ronnie. What a gift to grow up in that era of music. We were absolutely blessed.
Got to see Charlie Watts and his band at the Blue Note in NYC in the early 90's. So awesome and impressive. Glad I had the chance to see him.

Baker is one of the best rock drummers. I agree with his opinion on the best …..

There is a ream of drummers whom Baker considered some of the finest percussionists in the world. After being posed the hypothesis that he was the best drummer ever by Forbes, Baker casually replied: “I wouldn’t quite say that. I think I’m one of them, for sure. I had my own thing, which Phil Seamen had, which Art Blakey had. When you hear them playing, you know who it is.”

Adding: “Max Roach, ‘Philly’ Joe Jones, Elvin Jones. It goes back to ‘Papa’ Jo Jones and [Warren] Baby Dodds. All of these guys had a huge influence on me, but I didn’t copy them. Probably the biggest influence was Phil Seamen. He was God.”

Underrated rock drummer - Mitch Mitchell
A cool video if anyone wants a more technical breakdown of what makes a good drummer.
A very typical drum pattern involves playing the kick drum on beats 1 and 3 and snare on 2 and 4. It's cool to see how often Mitchell moves the kick and snare so they aren't on those beats.

Who am I to argue with Ginger Baker?

Billy Cobham. Played with all the Jazz greats of his time and the 1982 tour sitting in the seat for Bobby and the Midnights ( Bob Weir ) was epic.

Tower Theater, Upper Darby, sizzling with acid screaming through the universe kind of evening. The cosmos was focused in a Petrie dish of silver liquid bubbling and blazing all evening long. Tgar can still hear every conversation in the house. God did the beers taste great that night.

Keith Moon for me. And one that never gets much cred is Manu Katche who played with Peter Gabriel amongst others.

But I've always loved this tribute.....

Bobby and Midnites at Stanley Theater January 1982m was Super Bowl Sunday as I recollect. Billy Cobham playing a North Percussion drum set was several orders magnitude better player than any one else on stage that day.

I’m 42 and consider myself a child of the grunge era. Tool’s rhythms and odd time signatures always intrigued me

Danny Carey is, IMO, this generations’ drum god. They don’t call him the octopus for nothing. Polyrhythm master

Honorable mention:
John Dolmayan
Ray Luzier
Sean Kinney

Like I said…. Grunge

his hand talent is absolutely amazing, his playing ability, poly rhythms are incredible. I always think "with so much raw talent why don't they play better songs"..............
