Easy one for me. Charlie Watts. He made the Stones with his jazz background and 3-beat rhythm. He made Keith Richards sound like a God along with Ronnie. What a gift to grow up in that era of music. We were absolutely blessed.

Smartest drummer may have been Dave Clark. In an era when most bands didn't own the rights to their songs, he owned everything the DC5 did- and made millions.

Compare that to the latter years of guys like Levon Helm and Ginger Baker who were bitter and broke late in life because they didn't own the music thy were instrumental in making.
