I don't give a 17 that FSU is undefeated. Those are the best 4 teams, regardless of record.

DS ...

I rank them as

  1. MSU
  2. Ole Miss
  3. FSU
  4. Alabama

Agree, think those are the 'best 4 teams' right now. And, if the teams were still 'objectively' determined with major computer influence, those would be the teams.

These early, weekly 'votes' might have more of a SECW flavor but that will change quickly, as we take turns 'knocking' each other out of contention.

In the end 3 out of 4 teams being from one division in one conference WILL NOT HAPPEN under the current voting scenario. If Oregon wins out, count on them being in the 'final four.'

Oregon has a 'relatively' easy path to the finals, while the SECW will continue to 'eat it's own'. MSU still has to play 2 of top 4 (OM, Bama,)
OM still has to play LSU, AU & MSU and Bama still has LSU, MSU, & AU.

My Top 4..

1. Mississippi State
2. Ohio State (I have no allegiance to this team. Just think they are improving every week.)
3. Auburn
4. Georgia

This is the way I see it playing out. Not saying that I totally agree though.

1. Mississippi State
2. Ohio State
3. Oregon
4. TCU

Of course all of these teams would have to win out, but I see that as being as realistic of a scenario as any other that I have heard.

Unfortunately, I see it playing out as:

2. Florida State
3. Oregon
4. Notre Dame

I think you have to put Bama outside the top 5. They are very close, but every other team in the discussio knows exactly who they are. Until Bama plays another top defense and shows that they can win by jamming the ball down their throats and setting up the play action for Blake Sims, I don't trust them. I don't think they can win against Auburn, FSU, or MSU if they have to rely on Blake Sims and I don't think their D is good enough this year to rely on their D. That said, they're still close enough to the top 4 that I expect to lose to them at Tuscaloosa.

The only caveat I have is that FSU certainly hasn't played like a top 4 team yet this year, but until they lose, I am assuming that they will turn it on when necessary.

Bama? Really?

Sure they may prove me wrong, but I'm not seeing it this year from them. Is it just because they're Bama?

I just hope that it plays out that we do not have to play another SEC squad in the playoffs, because everyone we could play will be someone we have already beaten, and vengeance is a hell of a thing. We throttle any OOC foe we draw. The absolute best result for us would be:

1. MSU
2. FSU
3. Oregon
4. TCU/Marshall/ECU/ND

with us playing FSU in the final. That is as winnable as it gets.

What day do they release their first poll? Sunday?

No doubt it will be an hour long affair on ESPN to announce them all.
