Just thinking about saved receipts from restaurant and Old Waverly. If someone else paid for this, why do you keep receipts unless you intend to use them for leverage or cause harm intentionally. Just my thought. Haven't seen anything specific in regards to receipts.

Especially someone who advises a high school senior to "forget that **** ever happened."

I will say this. We are the Worst mf'ers at cheating ever. I can't believe we are dumb enough to even allow him to keep receipts.

There isn't telling how many people keep receipts just in case you need it one day. By the way many Credit Card receipts don't have a name or a full credit number. I travel a lot and my hotel bill always say settle with credit card ending in ####. No name just the last four numbers. If that's the case anyone can use it. I don't think the IRS is going to investigate it that hard. The room was probably in his name and not the booster any ways. The IRS are just going to ask if you have a receipt or not. He is self-employed and probably makes a lot of money and might need the write offs. But I agree with you on your point that he did it in this case to have leverage.

Maybe the hotel receipt was the one that was for the cleaning fee and it showed the room was comp'd. I have no possible explanation for the meal receipt.

Why/How would he get a receipt if he did not pay for the meal??

I read on CL blog that the owner of Anthony's said that he had spoken to the NCAA and to State compliance officer and that he denied the statements that

Herring also arranged complimentary meals for De’Vinner at Anthony’s Good Food Market in West Point on several trips to Starkville, according to the report. The restaurant’s owner, Ray Hamilton, denied such meals.
“I have spoken with MSU compliance and the NCAA,” Hamilton said in an email to the Clarion-Ledger. “They have asked that I remain silent until all the details are sorted out. The story is inaccurate.”

I agree, he was already building his case

of where he was, when he was there, and who paid for it. (Yeah, he looks like the kind of guy who keeps an acordian file for all his travel reciepts, cross tabbed even.*) My theory, he saw what he saw with the $100 handshake, he tried to leverage that knowledge into a job, that didn't pan out and so he sold his story somewhere else and is us out. Their is no bigger story, no bigger schools soon to get the hammer, yada 17n' yada. Its just us and this fat Ole Miss lovin' bastard.

Does Waverly have a higher tax rate than the rest of MS? 7% of $55 is $3.85. Anybody verified whether the receipt is genuine. Takes a pretty stupid individual to give someone a receipt like that especially for something he didn't pay for.
