Based on Veasey's article, I wouldnt be surprised if we start Turner tonight.

I actually think Ravern will play decent due to UPig's lack of defensive prowess. Kodi, should he not start, will go into a big pouting shell and be worthless.

Gimme Ravern with a edge tonight

on the perimeter on the offensive end AND he can't take people off the dribble. Once he starts doing that, he will be a whole lot more valuable to us.

I couldn't agree more, he is 6'8" he should help score in the paint and leave the three point shooting to the ones who make them.....

but it's basically a 4 guard lineup when he camps out behind the 3 point line. We desperately need some other type of low post presence.

I don't know where he got it in his head that it would be a good idea to try to beat defenders off the dribble.

...stay down low. Score off the block. Defend, rebound, and take the occasional three. Instead, he thinks he is a guard.

I agree with everything you said for once. Maybe you are coming around.

I can't imagine 2 more opposite attitudes.

Corrected.

I have no problem with 2 or 3 3 point shots a game, if anything to keep the other team honest to his range; because he does have an ok outside shot, but we desperately need him playing big man with V. Garbage points are still points.

We need Osby, Turner, & Kodi to all play down low when in the game to help SWAT on defense and offense...

to put him where he is supposed to be on the floor? Most teams have offenses in which the players have a certain spot they are supposed to be in- at least to start it. I have a hard time believing that Kodi starts the last 15 games if he is always out of position from where Stansbury wants him to be.

...and Stans can't handle those guys. Stansbury has done all he knows to do, though. He benched him last year for this crap. This year begins with a very public fit that earned him a suspension, and now the approach appears to be to start him to appease him and play Phil when it counts. The high ego guys and Stansbury have never coexisted.

It's not always true the other way around. I mean Bowers had a lot of talent but no ego, same with Zimmerman, and Roberts, and so on.

The high ego guys are usually pretty good ballers though, and I wish Rick could get a handle on them sooner rather than later. Rhodes is a great example. We wasted better than a year and a half before we got to enjoy Chuck being Chuck. Gordon had his ego problems, as did Tang. Kodi is the latest example. Sharpe never did learn anything and wound up nearly dead in a gutter in Bham before miraculously getting a chance in the NBA

Then there is a third category where no coach excels.....over involved Daddy's. The Delks and Hansbrough come to mind, as does Toney Douglas at Auburn. Those guys had to move to make Daddy happy.

..because the inability to handle the high ego, and as you say most of the time high talented players ends up with transfers that have crippled our program.

and the do occur - when he boxes out on the offensive board, and gets garbage buckets, he give flashes of Brandon Vincent. I wish he did it more. It would actually aid theperimter portion of his game of which he has such and outsized perception.

I got a feeling Kodi will have his hands full with Powell. So, I see Ravern being more productive.

We have got to defend Powell, stop the chick from penatrating, and deny Clarke the ball. We do that......we win. That is a lot to ask. But obviously, it can be done.

Another thing, if we get up on them tonight. Stay focused. NO F'N STREET BALL! The game ain't over until the clock hits 0:00.00 in the 2nd half.
