Not if he's like every other coach I've ever known. I don't buy into the philosophy that Meo won't let him leave Starkville. They would pack up and leave for Memphis in a heartbeat, no matter what they've told MSU folks what they want to hear.

What about Barbee? He is the one guy Cal promised to lobby for if/when he left.

Dan Wetzel didn't mention John Brady, Stan Jones, "coach"34, or Andy Kennedy as a consideration for the UK job.

Stansbury is an overachiever. Get over it.

whose names you never hear about when openings come up. Maybe its because they've made it known they aren't interested in leaving their current job.

I hate to break it to you Coach, but he was near the top of Arkansas' list when they got rid of Heath. He had Sexton tell them unequivocally that he wasn't interested. Now, I'm sure you won't believe me and that's fine, but it's the truth. I can assure you that the humor of him possibly coaching Gary his senior hear was not lost on Rick.

He and his family are happy in Starkville. Period.

I don't doubt that at all. And I don't doubt at all he will be continue to do well there. But I don't doubt at all that he puts out feelers, either.

Speaking of having your head up your ***. It's Memphis. It's a top 10-15 job. It's considered a plum in the coaching community. Brady tried to get his hat in the ring when they fired Tic Price.

You are right about that. Coaches get approached all the time and unless they are trying to parlay it into a contract extension, you never hear about it. A lot of them like it that way.

Anderson to Memphis is a lateral move. He is at a school that is thrilled with what he does year in and year out. If he goes to Memphis and doesn't do what Calipari has done they will be looking to move him out. I don't see him leaving.

Coach34 and Stans have to have some kind of past beef we don't know about. This is getting ridiculous.

I know the appeal of playing in a high school conference is pretty strong for some people, but Coach Stans is too smart for that. He could get a much better job if he really wanted it. Luckily for us he tells everybody thanks but no thanks.

Or do you still have nothing better to do with your time?

Did you really just say the University of Memphis basketball head coaching position is a step down from Mississippi State? Just when I thought you couldn't get any worse.

At Memphis:
The facilities are WAY better.
The tradition is WAY richer.
The focus on basketball is WAY bigger.
The chances of making the NCAA with a decent seed are WAY higher.

But Stans could get a much better job than Memphis. Sure. UCLA, Duke, UK, KU UNC, UCONN, Memphis. Thats the sort of program Memphis is...there arent many better.

whoever it is I think its going to be a hard job to replace Cal. Yes, Memphis has a top class coming in, but Cal was an ******* that the city of memphis came to really admire and embrace. Whoever takes the job is going to have to weather an enormous shadow before ever coming into their own. I mean really, Cals record (something like 252-69) speaks for itself, regardless of the conference. Good luck future Memphis coach...

And the The New MSU should be banned for being the biggest dubmass that has touched a key board.

players constantly transferring, team often looks uncoached on the floor...i.e....street ball, players not living up to their potential.....otherwise, he would have been at a top 25 coaching gig long ago, its not like he is making a ton of money either......there is a reason his name never comes up.....
