Dee used to turn the ball over a lot, and he used to not be a very good shooter.<div>
</div><div>Give Deville a chance to grow up and learn before we throw him to the wolves after his 11th game. He's shown flashes of greatness, and that's all I want from him at the moment.</div>

I said he's not the answer to be the starting point guard next year. Should Stansbury wait till after his 11th game of his sophomore year to realize he isn't ready? No it's called being proactive not reactive. So again I ask who will be the starting point guard next year? That doesn't mean Deville can't earn that later but all I'm seeing are signs that he isn't ready.

At this point he looks better than Z, Jamoney, and Bost did their freshman years.

he isn't better than a one of them and piece-o-**** Ervin was miles ahead of Deville as well. Are you drunk?

In one thread, you're talking about C34 has "earned trust" when it's obvious he doesn't know ****.

In this thread, you have determined how well DeVille will play for the rest of his career based on the first 12 games.

You're either an idiot or drunk. Go try to sleep it off. You can't sleep off stupid, but try anyway.

Damn.

past the fact you've been here for only a year. What team did you root for two years ago? How's life in Dorman Hall?

Deville is going to be very good for us down the road, but the staff is extremely high on Josh Gray. I believe they will split equal time next year. We will redshirt Hardwick and use those two for the next few years.

only get better. He is trying too damn hard to make plays every single time he gets it. He has to learn to slow it down a little and work the ball around via the pass instead of trying to dribble in around and thru everyone. He played very well against Texas A&M, Arizona, and West Virginia. I look forward to watching him get better and I do believe that he could be a great PG for us over the next 4 years. Josh Gray could be a great one for us as well, but Deville will be playing a ton of minutes for us for a long time to come. He will get it. He is definitely not a Gary Ervin clone although these last 2 games have reminded me of him a little. Only difference is Ervin thought he was 6'6 and could drive on anyone. If there was an official stat for having your shot blocked, he would hold the MSU record for that.

I haven't seen any video of him, so I don't know his style, but Deville should be light years ahead of him next year with a year of experience under his belt. It takes time for freshmen to get used to the speed of the college game. It takes some longer than others, but I expect Deville to be the starter at the beginning of next year. At least until someone else proves they deserve it. FWIW, not a dumb post in my opinion. Instead of just answering the 17ing question, people wanna be sixpack cool and start a 2 page thread on how dumb you are for asking.

Jamoney was awful his Freshmens year his a/t ratio was horrendous. Bost was good his freshmens year, but I wonder if DV is better.

Anybody want to look at stats for this point in each of the 4 player's freshmens seasons?

It's the insinuation that a talented freshman who's had recent struggles won't be good enough by next season to be the starting point guard. I'm not going to jump in and call the guy an idiot since we've already met our quota as far as bouts are concerned, but that's not a strong assumption to make when you don't have that many games to base it off of.
