Who wants way too early tournament speculation?

due to the fact that the mid majors like the MVC aren't going to be sending four teams this year.

No team has ever finished 10-6 in the SEC and not made the tournament. I think that 11-5 gets us in and 10-6 gets us on the wrong side of the bubble if we were to bailout by losing our first SEC-T game.

Another thing to consider is the schedule. I know we just lost to Ole Miss, but I think there is a lot of separation between us and LSU and the rest of the West ... The SEC West is going to look something like this

First Place 13-3
Second Place 12-4
Third Place 7-9
Fourth Place 6-10
Fifth Place 4-12
Last Place 4-12

while four teams could compete in the East

First Place 11-5
Second Place 10-6
Third Place 10-6
Fourth Place 9-7
Fith Place 5-11
Last Place 2-14

It may not add up right, but you get the idea.

That East Fourth Place team could likely be Tennessee or Kentucky. Both of those teams would get in. If it ended up Vandy or South Carolina, they could be left out. The point being If we end up 12-4, we'll get in because 12-4 could be the second best record in the SEC.

This may be the most level SEC tournament in a long time. There doesn't appear to be a team you HAVE to avoid, and I don't know that there will be a great deal of difference in finishing first or second in the West as far as bracketing goes. I mean, if you finish as 1 West you're on the same side of the bracket as 2 and 4 East, which as of today is South Carolina and Tennessee. If you finish 2 West you are on the same side as East 1 and 3, which today is Florida and Kentucky. Put those four teams in a bag and shake them up though and they could finish in any order.

Obviously I would like to finish first, but I think second is more likely, which would put us against W6/E3, so perhaps the Arkansas-Kentucky winner? That's a heck of an opening round game for those two.
