that position is more important to our team than it is to most teams . Seriously though , I haven't heard it mentioned .

Good question, we have a replacement in 16 for our soph kicker, but none for our senior punter-----unless McKinniss is ambidextr------uh, I mean unless he does both.

Did I see something where he tweeted out something after the UL loss? I don't follow Twit at all, but seems I heard something about a tweet of his that was none too complimentary.

Foster thanked a bunch of people including Joker about his time at UK. He left out any of the current coaches in the tweet.

Thanks. Thought it was something like that but wasn't sure. Doesn't sound real positive.

He may have felt abandoned when no ST coach was hired. A player, even a punter likes to feel they have somebody developing their talent. This is another mistake Stoops made I think.

To be fair, most punters and kickers get all of the training in their own in the offseason. They also send tapes to the kicking specialist during the year. Very few if any special teams coaches know the first thing on kicking mechanics.

It was a "Stupid Decision" and you saw it on the field! Dead last in field position in all of football! I was a HUGE Stoops supporter prior to this year but the GLARING coaching mistakes he made in his third year has me believing he is NOT Head Coach material! He does not learn from his mistakes! I don't see any change either! I think he is very closed minded and stubborn! You can work all night but if you have clue what your doing your just chasing your tail!

There was some glaring deficiencies, but on of the problems with field positions was McGinnis getting hurt. Also Landon did not punt the ball very well at all. Did we have a punt that went for 50yds all year?

Never seen a punter regress so much his senior year as Foster. His leg became mediocre at best in all aspects of the job it's supposed to do.

Man even Jack Nicholas had a coach his entire life. His name was Jack Grout and he was responsible for letting Nicholas know when and how he was altering his swing. Having a coach is always a supportive thing and helps a person get and stay on track. Not having a ST coach may not have been the issue but it sure as heck didn't help.

I say we take it the next step and give up punting all together. It's an old worn out strategy with a losers mentality anyway. We say damn the torpedoes and go for it every time. We can throw it up for grabs 40 yards each time and see what happens. If it's intercepted we get the same result, a few times we get lucky and make a play. And the rest of the time we give up field position but it's not like we held the other guys there many times this year anyway.

It will be our MO and our new slogan next year. . . "Real Men Don't Punt"

I believe a study was done and going for it on fourth down was in the offenses favor statistically I believe.

I've always thought coaches should go for it more often. Not ridiculous situations, example 4th and 20 on your own 10 or something, but 4th and less than 5? Do it.

You are right and it dosen't take a mental giant to see...two more years before we get any relief because of a stupid play by the ad

Your last two posts on this subject just go to show how little you know or care to know about football. There is a direct undeniable correlation between winning and field position. We ranked last in field position for D1 schools this year. If you don't think this had a beyond enormous impact on our Offensive, Defensive success this year and corresponding wins and loses....then you shouldn't even post on a football message board.

McGinnis getting hurt for kickoffs was a huge issue...single handedly cost us the Auburn game. And Foster was beyond terrible. I for one am VERY interested in who will be replacing Foster.

For Kentucky to win in the SEC we just have to win or at the very least tie other teams in the Special teams battle week in and out.

Once again as is common with social media because it isn't verbalized...you miss the point. What i'm saying is nobody cares who the punter is..hell 2 games this year Foster was replaced and nobody knee it. Punter isnt a high profile position like QB Or RB or WR...there wont be numerous conversations about who our next punter will be. Next year we will have a new punter when season starts and we will roll with it. There wont be gnashing of teeth over it like other positions. THATS my point ...move on

Anyone who knows football cares.
I've thought about putting this clown on " ignore " and never done that to anyone . But honestly , just knowing there are people like him out there make me feel a lot better about myself . He's like therapy .
