hopefully Gavin is great and he starts all 12 and the bowl .
But it’s a tough sport . Things happen.

I think we will be counting on Simon for a few games and maybe even shep

Some were saying Shepard was going to take the job from Wimsatt, I believe.

Wimsatt will have to raise his game to keep the jov and Shepard is already more accurate.

I’m surprised Simon isn’t starting. I hear he’s much better on the field and keeps the locker room tight

If they can get Gavins feet moving north consistently in games then suddenly he doesn't have to be so accurate. A lot easier for guys to be wide open when the defense is keyed on the QB run.

Chip Kelly, offensive guru, is playing 3 QBs in his opener. What kind of loser team does that? 😂

Sure, but will he do it on the first three plays of the season's opening possession?
Is that you colbert, or does Shelby have control of your keyboard? 😉
That series was innovation. Wait until this year's first play, with a 4 QB set on the first play-Langan under center, Wimsatt and Simon lined up in the backfield and Sheppard lined up at TE. Gonna be epic.

Langan is certainly a dark horse. As of last year, he was more accurate than Gavin in the short / medium game and clearly a proven runner. Being that he’s zero threat to throw the deep ball, having him for QB would have obvious limitations but depending on our improvement in the trenches it still might be better than having a QB who can’t execute simple laterals reliably (hopefully that’s no longer true of Gavin but it’s indesputably his starting point). The post suggesting that we open things up so he doesn’t need to be accurate is a pipe dream. We’ll never have an open field ever if Gavin has to stare down a short lateral to complete it properly. We must have some semblance of a threat to pick up yardage on short edge passes to be competitive.

Some… the coach early on during spring and summer camp mentioned it . Yet Other than that I don’t recall someone saying he hasn’t improved. Contrary to SOME it appears Gavin has improved. We’ll see on Sunday. For me I hoping his passing and decision making continues to improve.
