I think I'm going to go Redmond here. By all accounts, it seems like he is a solid, lockdownCB, with great speed. I'm really hoping Redmond is the versatile CB that can play both sides and match up against a teams best WR. We have had problems with that, most recently the SC game when Broomfield was covering Alshon Jeffrey on that TD pass at the end of the game. A lockdown CB than can man up like that is hard to come by, and I think would be a huge asset to our defense.

..having only 2 viable QB's on the roster is ridiculous.

I don't know what Mullen's Plan B & Plan C are concerning signing a QB, but I keep waiting for Mullen to step up to the plate & get that 3rd QB in the fold. It hasn't happened yet.

if you're basing it on next year, Autry of course but over the next four years who knows? I hope the two juco OL can come in and provide immediate "quality" depthand push for a starting job.

now as far as HS recruits go i would expect nick james to make a big impact, just his combination of size and agility is something special.

GOD bless

as insurance in case of a rash of injuries next year but Liggins is the only guy out of what's left that to me could be a impact player fairly early. Any others we are signing (including either of the GA QBs) will likely be long term projects so I can't see them as being the MOST important for the near term.

..don't tell me about the labor, just show me the baby.

I've read dozens of mini-novels here about the labor, but I've yet to see the baby.

if our offense is going to do anything in 2012- these 2 guys have to play and play well. They are super important to our offense being successful

last season we would have won at least eight regular season games, it was a huge issue.

..a bunch of fantasy-land bullshitters about all their recruiting lies.

What's ridiculous is how gullible people are when it comes to every far-fetched tale & bald-faced lie that comes down the pike.

Most impactful next year - Autry<div>Most important next year - Siddoway</div><div>Most impactful/important over the long haul - I really like Redmond, but I'm going to go with Quay Evans. His agility, quickness, and speed at that size is amazing. He will get to the point where he blows up a lot of the opposing offense's plays immediately. He and Nick James, assuming both have their head on straight, will be an unreal combo.</div>

Not that you care what I think, but Will Redmond will be an NFL CB if he doesn't get hurt. Those are hard to come by. I think he's good enough now to get snaps for you next year.

Autry is really good too, but could be a one year guy. That's the reason I would put Redmond ahead of him.

Last, I really think you are getting a steal in Jiles. If he and Redmond are as good as I hear they are, you could have two very few good corners for the next years.

if we get to our 3rd string QB, even if it were Gunner Kiel, we'd still be in a world of hurt this season. Russell has 2 years left and Dak has 4. We're looking for a #3 QB. It's probably kind of hard to convince a HS "star" to come be a 3rd string QB at MSU.I know you know this, so quit trying to be like Coach by stirring the pot.

if it was one of the offensive linemen, or more than one of them. As for us looking for a #3 QB: That's a ridiculous statement. I have seen nothing out of Russell that says he is the automatic starter. NOBODY has seen Prescott in a college game. There are still QBs on the board who could very well compete for the top job. Liggens is tailor made for the system we have been running with Relf.

we did have an 8-5 season in 2007 with a true freshman QB MUCH lower rated than someone like Kiel. And he started roughly 2/3rds of the season due to the injuries to our No. 1 and No. 2 QBs. But I agree that if we end up getting a Scheussler or Bench type we would be in a world of hurt if we had to play them this fall. However, if we get Liggins, and he was forced into action then I would think we could still have a good shot at a successful season.

If I had to guess Autry will be the most impactful but Sid & Holloway will be the most important. Not really that concerned w/ QB.

dominate video I've seen this year of all the recruiting video's.

He's is going to be an animal at DT - maybe not next year due to our depth but he is going to be Fletcher good IF he's ready to work

...my love for coach34 is well-documented within these holy archives.

To the matter at hand: If you want to see the pot stirred, watch Russell go down the 2nd game of the season with a knee, out for the entire 2012 campaign.

Then watch how stirred the pot gets when a QB with 0 game experience comes in & tries to deal with SEC defenses.

And if you want to see the pot boil over & scald everything & everybody in Northeast Mississippi, wait until the QB with 0 game experience goes down for the season with a broken leg, & Mullen's only choice @ QB is to run Chad Bumphis out the wildcat formation for the rest of the season.

That will lead to some pot-stirring the likes of which you've never seen.

you think the most important thing to do is add yet another QB with 0 game experience to the mix. I can see how that would solve everything. Let me clarify...at this point, with what's left on our board - it's pretty irrelevant. Whether we bring in Liggins or aither of the other two new prospects, if we get to #3 on the roster this year it's going to be a crappy year. Bo Wallace was our best option once mini-favre split, but that ship has sailed. So, while I agree that it's pathetic that we let ourselves get to this point - how do you suggest we fix it going forward? Adding 1 QB is important, but with what's left...it doesn't really matter who it is. they won't be ready to do much next year.
