This will never live up to the rainbow thread, but I was curious who will be the crowd favorite go-getter in the next crop of players? I grew up watching guys likeYoung, Masters, Rusty Thoms, Travis Chapman, and on, but that'sone thing we have been missing the past few seasons.

I go with C.T. Bradford. Starts from day one and probably hits around .300 with some bombs.

CT Bradford was the first to come to my mind.

But- some other candidates for crowd favorites:

Adam Frazier- may start at second on day one.

Cody Abraham- I think he may be the most underrated guy in our class.

Sleeper picks for crowd favorites:

Brayden Jones- He plays the game the right way.

Jake Smithey- Most likely to be like Rusty Thoms in terms of being a left fielder and a crowd favorite. He has good size- 6'3" 225, and he hit over 10 home runs at Pontotoc.

In memoriam: Chase Lewallen- If we get him back, after JUCO, he is going to be a favorite. The guy makes things happen on the basepaths, and is a tremendous defender.

I'm mainly thinking about the guy who always makes the plays when it counts, gets the clutch hits, hustles, and relates to the fans moreso than the other players.

When Butler was a freshman, I figured he was going to be that guy becuase he just got after it. But... I guess Jeffrey Rea was the last one of that type, in my mind.

I respect the quiet go-about-my-business player as much as anyone, but every team needs one guy to fill the role of favorite.

What about Wes Rea? I figure he might have the "John Riek Effect" due to his size alone.

I saw him hit a ball into the bullpen at Trustmark Park during a high-school All-Star Game. (I dropped my date off at Bass Pro Shop- she was pissed)

Also, I was watching the M-Braves and I sat in front of some scouts. I overheard one of them talking about Wes Rea- he said that he was trying to get a cross checker to look at him. He sounded like he really liked him a lot. I was surprised that he wasn't drafted.

He is no John Riek- he is a legit power hitter, and he is a pretty good defender. He may pitch some once his arm gets better. His arm strain won't affect him playing first base.

I can't wait for these players to be juniors. I expect them to produce before then, but I think that they will really be a very good experienced team at that point.
