Our 2014 football schedule could not be shaping up to be any more advantageous for us. After maneuvering through the first 6 games at 6-0, we now have a break, then two beatable games. After those, TN-Martin (giggle), then Bammer, then Vandy (down), then the Bears. I don't think anyone could have scripted it any better. Sure we have to show up ready for business, but it lines up for a nice run!

It really has worked out great for us. Now, it required us to be on top of our game but wow.
We beat #8 LSU and get credit for a top 10 win. TSUN might beat them and no get credit for a Top 25 win.
We beat #6 aTm, TSUN beats them a week later and only gets a top 20 win.
We will probably play Alabama after they have worked their way back up into the top 5.
Then, all of the other reasons you suggested. Arkansas would bother me a whole lot more if that game was on the road, Vandy provides us as much of a 'off week' as you can get in an SEC game before our rival. (not to mention that the same weekend, TSUN has to go TO Arkansas).
That 3 game stretch for us bothered me all summer. I HOPED for 2-1, I would have been ok with 1-2 as long as we prepared for the rest of the season. Never allowed myself to dream of 3-0.

I think one of biggest advantages in the egg bowl this year will be the physical play TSUN deals with the week before. Arkansas won't beat them, but TSUN isn't likely to leave that game unscathed either.
