Whole regional was a dud...

...Stratton got roughed up in first game (nobody say that one coming).


...FSU holds the Samford Babe Ruths to 3 hits in a 8-1 win (nobody saw that one coming).


...Cohen made the most bone-headed decisions of his whole coaching career today (nobody saw that coming).


...Holder comes in & gets rocked (nobody saw that one coming).


Committee ignores MSU's SECT run & sends MSU to a trap regional where the trap was successful (everybody saw that one coming).


Looking back, for a team that has only one player in the line-up that hits over .300, the SECT championship was a miracle of biblical proportions.

Our hitting didn't help but we haven't had that luxury all season, so why start now?

Really good season for me. Not the way I wanted to end things but I think me made a good foundation this year for seasons to come.

...I'm sure these guys were mentally worn out after the SECT run. But if they are going to play MLB, they are going to have to grind through 80 games while mentally exhausted.


The bottom line is a pitcher of Stratton's caliber has to be able to handle a team like Samford.


For whatever reason, that didn't happen.


The mountain was just too tall to climb after Stratton's unsuccessful outing.

We scored 2 runs in our regional losses. Roger Clemons could not have won for us.

Sanford game. It could have been me, Stratton, or Roy Halladay pitching. We didn't score. Again, we made Samford's third starter look like a garbage pitcher everywhere except the scoreboard.

Clemens lost like 5 or 6 1-0, 2-1 games that year. The offense was so anemic it was depressing.

...I don't give a damn how bad our hitting is, a pitcher of Stratton's caliber should not be getting taken to the woodshed by Samford.


And I wish I could have seen you pitch the first Samford game.


It would have been funny watching you piss your pants after the first Samford batter sent a screamer whizzing by you left ear.

Stratton gave up a 2nd inning bomb. Even if that 8th inning hadn't happened, we still would have lost.

If ya can't beat Samford once in two chances, you don't deserve a shot at any one seed, much less the national #3. Wish we could've had a crack at the Noles though. In true Mississippi State style, we played to the level of our opponent all year.
