...oh, sorry, we're going to a game that's higher than a CUSA bowl.<div>#ourstate</div>

All I could do was laugh about it. They really get bent out of shape over the smallest **** when it comes to us or TSUN.

We won @UAB, they lost @UAB, which automatically disqualifies them from the Mississippi Championship. Therefore, we are by defaultbetter than USM. Period. End of discussion.

MSU beat UAB for sure. Also , a MSU team with a 6-6 record and one win over a team with a winning record that USM also beat is obviously superior to USM. Skull dragging a whipped OM team and acting like it was a huge win for the state championship makes perfect sense. Yes sir, MSU football was just awesome this year.

..far from it. It's just that OM & MSU play in the SEC, which is a conference that people take serious.

USM plays in CUSA, which nobody takes serious. It you want your crack at a 6-6 SEC team to prove your worth, pray you get Vandy in the Liberty Bowl. See how that works out for you.

I live in North Mississippi and we never hear much at all about them. Are they having a good year?

First... you lost to UAB... whatever point you had isirrelevant, but just because I feel like it.. I'll play along.<div>
</div><div>Anyone who thinks that MSU fans are ecstatic about how the regular season ended is obviously biased and/or blind. Even though we had a pretty brutal conference schedule we are still 6-6. The only good things we can say is that we were competitive in all of our losses except for 1 half in Arkansas. We are far from elite.</div><div>
</div><div>You don't have a real rival and probably never will. Until you get one, you will never understand why beating a 2 win Ole Miss team is worthy of chest thumping.</div>

If I'm not mistaken, it's either BCS or bust for Houston. If USM wins or loses they're going to the Liberty more than likely. A win for obvious reasons, but a loss means that Houston is getting a BCS bid since they fulfilled the AQ qualifications. If Houston loses, they will fall to the Hawaii bowl.

State's strength of schedule on Sagarin is at #22 and USM's at #122. The NCAA has State's SOS at #15 and USM at #107.

How would USM have done against our schedule? Probably 6-6 at best as well, if not worse. We lost to five teams that won 10 or more games- including the top three in the BCS as of last week until Les "ran it up" on Arkansas. Our other loss was a to a top 25 team as of last week on the road. And that was with an o-line that was banged up. And we were competitive in every loss aside from Arkansas. Even if USM had managed 6-6, there would have been a couple of blowouts along the way. Your defense isn't as good as ours. Also, I wouldn't be totally shocked if Kentucky could beat USM in Lexington. We got a big lead on them and ran the clock out.

I think MSU probably goes 12-0, no worse than 11-1 with yours- we are better than UAB obviously and we are also better than Marshall. Virginia was a quality win- I'll give you that. And Navy is 4-7 right now with Army left. If we're in C-USA, the championship game is for a BCS bowl between MSU/UH no doubt about it. And we might be able to beat Houston- it would be a shootout. Heck, we almost beat them with Keenum a couple of years ago with Tyson Lee and Carl Torbush as our DC- and then it took the officials screwing us to stop us. Anthony Dixon literally took a defender on his back 50 yards for a TD.

I found out that all ten SoMiss fans had a message board. Who knew? And that one guy's avatar really is a picture of the state in black gold with the writing of "this is our state"? C'mon dude, thats just not working for yah. Should have used something more cunning like "flagship".

We had to beat UAB to get there. Pretty safe to say that USM wouldn't have had a snowball's chance in hell of beating Ark, Bama, or LSU. Auburn and USCe played like **** some weeks, so maybe there would be a win there if they caught them on the right week, but USM would also have to worry about getting beat up and falling asleep against a team like UK or La Tech, which they almost lost to even without playing an SEC schedule.

They bring up a loss to Maine that was 7 years ago. A 3-9 MSU team lost to Maine that is somehow comparable with their 1 loss (at the time) team losing to UAB?Not even close.

Yea, losing to Maine is prettyembarrassing and not to make an excuse but our team was absolutely terrible that year. The major difference about losing to Maine and them losing to UAB and Marshall is that this is one of the best years they have had in a looong time and they still lost to pitiful teams. When we were bad, we were terrible... when they are "good" they're pitiful.

Arkansas (10-2), UGa (10-2), and S. Carolina (10-2) and our schedule is #22. I guess UAB, Memphis, and Ole Miss weighed it down.
