My Gator friends (and boosters) would never entertain the thought of CJF in Gainesville. Never. Ever. I can't speak so much for Nole fans.No idea what will happen in Florida. But I'd say the odds are near 50/50, maybe better, that HCJF will have a new job lined up before PSU has their new coach signed.
I would guess they are looking at what USF is doing with Alex Golesh as HC and thinking that might be their guy.My Gator friends (and boosters) would never entertain the thought of CJF in Gainesville. Never. Ever. I can't speak so much for Nole fans.
I expected there may be a domino effect of firings and expect FSU (unless things turn completely around) to be next. If you're in the market for a new coach, you have to actually be in the market asap.
You don't get fired from a program that has expectations of grandeur and immediately get another head coaching job at another school that has expectations of grandeur. If Franklin wants to still be a head football coach, he's going to have to take a job in a lesser conference or a job at a lesser school in one of the two big conferences. My sons went to UF and I know many Gator fans. They are well aware of CJF's reputation and do not see him as a strong candidate to get them back to national prominence.
He could easily slide into a job where they have been down a few years but have had success in the past and want to get back to relevance. VT and UNC would be ideal because he already has recruiting in roads in those areas. The flip side is him taking a job at either would be a recruiting PIA for PSU’s new coach. You don't get fired from a program that has expectations of grandeur and immediately get another head coaching job at another school that has expectations of grandeur. Isn't that like crapping your pants then changing your shirt? Asking for a friend....This could look like a trade. uf gets Franklin, we get napier.

He should. That's good for both sidesNo idea what will happen in Florida. But I'd say the odds are near 50/50, maybe better, that HCJF will have a new job lined up before PSU has their new coach signed.
Maybe...probably...but you never knowYou don't get fired from a program that has expectations of grandeur and immediately get another head coaching job at another school that has expectations of grandeur. Wouldn’t it be ironic if UCLA hired him?You don't get fired from a program that has expectations of grandeur and immediately get another head coaching job at another school that has expectations of grandeur. I actually wouldn't be surprised if he takes a GM job at a school; he probably would excel in a job like that.Maybe...probably...but you never know
Wouldn't be shocked to see him go somewhere like FSU
I also kind of expect him to enjoy his millions and work on TV for a bit
Great call outI actually wouldn't be surprised if he takes a GM job at a school; he probably would excel in a job like that.
Oh God no Napier makes Franklin look like the second coming of Vince Lombardi. This could look like a trade. uf gets Franklin, we get napier.

I don’t think CJF will get a job with any program that thinks they should be competing for titles , so Auburn and Florida are out.My sons went to UF and I know many Gator fans. They are well aware of CJF's reputation and do not see him as a strong candidate to get them back to national prominence.
Wasn't the rumor a few years back that Franklin met with Florida State near an airport in New York / New Jersey? It was part of the well honed Jimmy Sexton standing order to ALWAYS get James' name out there any time a higher level job came open.My Gator friends (and boosters) would never entertain the thought of CJF in Gainesville. Never. Ever. I can't speak so much for Nole fans.

I actually think that Stanford is the perfect fit for him
Some turmoil at Michigan would be nice.
Stoops buy out is Franklin esquesI'd be surprised if Stoops is brought back to UK.
My Gator friends are the opposite and would love it if Franklin went there. My Gator friends (and boosters) would never entertain the thought of CJF in Gainesville. Never. Ever. I can't speak so much for Nole fans.
I had suggested to a friend that Kraft ask Franklin to become our GM after the Oregon loss. I do think that is a role well suited for him.I actually wouldn't be surprised if he takes a GM job at a school; he probably would excel in a job like that.
