No one in their right mind would consider Louisiana Tech for a BCS game much less a spot in the national championship game if they were to go undefeated. And if we were to go undefeated this year, we'd get the "But its Mississippi State" treatment because we were on Croom Probation for half the last decade.
This is why we need a true, 16 team playoff, in which all 11 conference champions get a spot, and the top five at-large teams based on the BCS formula. If Boise State wants a shot at a national championship. Let them beat Ohio State, Texas, Florida and Alabama in consecutive weeks. My guess is that most years they would be one and done, and once every 6-8 years, they could pull one or two wins in a playoff like that. No way they can go through a four game gauntlet like that.
They looked good last night, and will likely go unbeaten, but if they get an SEC team in Glendale, it could be ugly. If they get Ohio State, I think they could win and the fellatio would continue.
