NO ONE does the good old cheers anymore. All they do is Maroon White and they hardly even do that. Whatever happened to "hold on what a minute gotta put some dog in it, whoof whoof whoof whoof whoof!! We got some dawgs up in here!! WOOF WOOF!!" Even, "here we go bulldogs here we go, woof woof!" State fans look at you like you want to blow them off when you do those cheers. I wish Greg Byrne would get on the jumbotron and teach some old dogs some old tricks and get the fans back in the game. I HATE the rip off of Ole Miss... We are gonna beat the hell outta you, maroon white, fight fight fight, miss. state WEEEEEEE damn right!" The WEEEEE is the most gayest **** in the world. If you are gonna do that cheer, at least go WOOOOOF, instead of WEEEEEEE. Don't even do that cheer anymore. We Got Some Dawgs Up in Here should be what's comin out of your mouth.

On and P.S. Greg and Dan, give up the Alma Matta. No One wants to sing that ****. no one. No one ever has and no one ever will. Use that energy for something cool that we all wanna do.

I don't really care for the alma mater but after the game last weekend I do not see any reason why they should drop it. I like the postgame tradition they are trying to start with it by getting everyone to sing it.

As for the chants we try to do "hold on what a minute gotta put some dog in it, whoof whoof whoof whoof whoof!!" all the time but not enough people know it or not enough people care for it. But Those chants are much better than the one we took from ole miss.

It's kind of hard to get into...."Hold up, wait a minute, let me put some dog in it" or "we got some dogs up in here" when you're getting shellacked on the field. I imagine that if we were to start winning consistently, more people would want to get into the cheer rather than punch the guy with the microphone. VegasDawg can help me out on specifics, but there have been games in the past where LSU is scoring their 5th or 6th TD and the cheerleader was yelling through the mic "We got some dogs up in here. Whoof Whoof." It just doesn't have the same ring to it in that situation.

Also, is that Auburn cheerleader wearing a wrist band with different cheers on it? That's pretty terrible if that's the case.

Best "Got some Dogs up in here" that I witnessed was after the Egg Bowl in 94 in Oxford. A lot of States fans were packed in their tiny concourse (pre expansion of that side of VH) on the east side trying to exit the stadium. Someone yelled out the cheer and it took off. I recall the cheer being done 5 or 6 consecutive times and lead by different individuals in the crowd.

The maroon and white cheer is old. The problem with it is that it has no ending. It just goes and goes until it fizzles out. It needs a ending with a climax. Which is why I like the maroon, white, fight, fight cheer. It is good. Who ever said it is a hotty toddy rip off is reaching.

The old school fans, Jackie winning tradition fans, used to do "hold on wait a minute", "we got some dogs up in here", "and here we go bulldogs". That's when we were winning consistently and the fans knew how to cheer. Only kids that weren't a part of that winning era think those chants are awful and redneck. I hope someone in the athletic department has the foresight to bring those cheers back and get the fans back in the game. Ringing cowbells is great and should never be stopped. However, we DO have some tradition in the cheers we do as fans and they need to be brought back in full force. I used to be able to start a cheer anywhere where there were bulldog fans and everyone would join in. Now everyone stands around like cattle with their cowbells and does not cheer. It's really damn sad if you ask me. The too cool for school crowd needs to get off their too cool pedestals and start 17ing cheering. Quit making me look like a complete *** and cheer for your dogs you sheep.

If everyone did a collective deep short WOOF it would sound bad ***. As it is now, it sounds like WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE and is very effeminate. Who do I talk to to change it from a girly weeeeeewooooo to a bad *** WOOF.

They have been doing that cheer forever with the same exact damn band music and it's not a rip off??? Come on. There is no arguing that we ripped it off. That's why I am saying we need to go back to our old standards that we used to chant all the time at games before we ripped off the hotty toddy WEEEEEEE song.

That cheer is the best thing we've got goin and if you hear "wee" then you're tone deaf. I also wish more of our stadium would do the kickoff chant.

Man, you're not kidding. I went to an Auburn game two years ago at the spur of the moment with some friends. We liked the stadium and atmosphere but then the chants started and all of us couldn't believe how awful it was. And their fans really do eat it up, like it's some cool **** or something. The male cheerleader standing on the podium did "2 bits, 4 bits" probably 10 times and did "I said it's great, to be, an AUBURN TIGER" like 30 times. It was literally the dumbest thing I've ever heard and none of us could believe that it was happening in an SEC stadium. Of course, then the Eagle flew down and gave us chills and we're not even Auburn fans. Regardless, their pregame, with the exception of the eagle, sucks big balls.

But hey I'm all about some superstitions....if' we got some dogs up in here' wins us games, I'm all for it. I just think they are a bit dumb and I associate dumb cheers with hotty toddy.
