Why did Orvis not get drafted? Guy

Perhaps he had expressed that he planned on returning, not sure. He was taken in the 19th round out of high school.

I'm certainly no swing expert but it looks to me like his bat doesn't spend very much time in the zone which can spell disaster against pro pitching. If he makes contact all is well, but even in college he has hit sub .300 so I think it would be a concern of his ability to get on base and get hits consistently.

Hes still far better than lots of people that get drafted but those late rounds are usually reserved for potential and raw players than polished players like orvis.

Bad body. Below average runner. Average defensively at 1B. Dead pull hitter with pull side power. Minor league baseball would eat him alive because he doesn't go the other way and they will have more guys that can make that pitch. That's why he wasn't drafted.
