Why did they run it out of the endzone?

I started a thread on this last night, but it was taken in another direction, but you get it in the endzone, kneel. You have 6 seconds left, enough time to do a hook and ladder, and one never knows. It showed me another example of being poorly coached.

It would be interesting to see what the odds are for scoring a touchdown off a kickoff fielded in the endzone, as well as the odds for scoring a touchdown off a time expired throw from the 25 yard line.

My guess is both are under 1%.

I thought the same thing. They had nine seconds. Could have got a quick pass to the sideline and a Hail Mary. A long shot but better chance than running back a kickoff.

Have you ever noticed the intelligence level of the average football player?
Exactly. Which is why the coaches should have pulled those guys aside and told them don't take it of the endzone if you get it, but apparently Georgia spends so much money on NIL, they can't afford to pay good coaches.

This can’t be true. The second smartest person on this board says so.

It was kind of funny that after the ridiculous kickoff and the safety and the stage coming out onto the field twice and confetti being all over the field, Georgia got almost the same situation after recovering the onside kick that they would've got if they had just downed it in the end zone. If they had downed it in the end zone, they would've been on their own 25 with 6 seconds left. Instead they were on their own 32 with 1 second left. Basically the same scenario, because the clock is going to run out on the play anyway, unless you run a quick hitch for 10 yards and call timeout, which wouldn't have helped Georgia much because they still wouldn't be in hail mary range.
