Why do all sports figures cross their arms in poses

Just watched the intro of all the players of the Mexico/Brazil match and every single player crossed their arms in their individual shots. Do crossed arms mean you're a badass?

I think that's the SOP for the World Cup intros. Not sure why they chose that.
