Why does baseball suck now?

4 things happened:

Casas slumped
Messina slumped
Petry slumped
Pitching fell off

That's really the story of the second half. We were winning games b/c Casas, Messina, and Petry were knocking the cover off the ball. Petry had one HR in May, on 5/3 against Winthrop. He had 4 games in May with 0 hits. I think he had 6 or 7 in the 3 months prior combined.

Good pitching will take you a long way and give you a chance, but we don't have it.
Needed 10 runs just to keep up today. Hard to consistently outscore teams at that pace.

Nothing. Just played over our heads the first part of the year.
That could possibly be the answer, just the way it goes sometimes. I also think the lack of pitching depth to cover the injuries caused it.
It seemed before the season it sounded to me the depth could cover this issue better than we have.
