Why does Clemson get to host the Super?

Bama beat the national seed GT. I was wanting Clemson to feel the burn of getting outbid again by an SEC school for hosting privileges.

if I had to guess though, I'd say Clemson's bid was more than Bama's. That's usually the decinding factor in something like this.

and I would suspect that Clemson would draw better for a Super Regional than Bama.

Although all you have to do to get Bama fans out there is somehow incorporate a football workout with the game.

Supers are not pre-determined events. In other words, the site of the event was not determined before the season began.

was in quite a "pickle" when we were matched up Clemson because both states have the confederate flag on their state flag. I wonder if the NCAA did that intentionally unintentionally. Probably not, but if so, I think it's good to see that they have a sense of humor.

based on the records (that is to say, neither of them deserve to host). Bama doesn't get bonus points for beating a national seed.

You do realize that the baseball selection committe had absolutely nothing to do with the ban on hosting pre-determined postseason tournaments for states with the Confederate flag. That wasn't even a consideration. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised at all if many of the baseball selection committe didn't even know the ban existed.

Exactly. When the national seed isn't involved, the host automatically goes to the higher remaining seed. If the remaining teams have the same seed, it goes to the best bid. You had to know Clemson would outbid Bama.

Same reason we got the SR over Clemson...we won the bid

Yep, so by that reasoning, MSU > Clemson > Bama when it comes to Super Regional bidding. I would think that would be expected.

Not being a homer but MSU > everyone except likely LSU in Super Regional Bidding

Regionals and Supers are not pre-determined and don't fall under the flag ban. Most people herein SC are so pissed about it because they have a basketball facility that could definitely be used for 1st and 2nd round NCAA tourney games.
